U.S. Politics

We've got no chance of knowing what's actually going on? So we're left guessing.

You can't completely discount the Mossad angle as it seems Israel are being complete bastards at the minute. Though they might just be exploiting the distraction, as they do?

The more likely scenarios in my head.

This spat has been engineered so it looks like the Tango Tyrant isn't in cahoots with Putin.

Or - Putin thought having an album full of Presidential porker porn would give him carte blanche. Now to his dismay he's finding out Trump's simply unhinged.

Any other offers?

Paul Ryan got the tax bill passed. Job done. Rinse and repeat in another 10 yrs or so.

Something like this. Maybe he didn't fancy trying to corral the House Republican Caucus so much when he could be coining bazillions on K Street instead.

Apologies for not making more effort to engage a discussion or to put forward a coherent and educating post. This post will be brief and I encourage anyone of interest to do their own research. What I post is official and factual, with the exception of my opinion on 9/11 and whether or not Fred Hampton was in fact a genius by IQ standards. Again, I recommend you do your own research.

MK-ULTRA:

A CIA Program started in April 1953 which employed mind control experiments and tactics on unwilling civilians in order to enhance their interrogation powers and god knows what else.

At times illegal, the program included spiking the drinks of unknowing civilians with LSD and observing them in CIA run houses. In one case a civilian was administered LSD for 174 days straight. As one CIA agent put it, "people who could not fight back were targeted". Drug addicts, sex workers, prisoners and mental patients.

Talk about unethical, a reoccuring theme in the three topics I have mentioned.

The Northwood Documents:

Was a proposal for the U.S government to commit terrorist acts on it's own people and then blame it on Cuba in order to gain support for a war with Cuba. The C.I.A would be responsible for carrying out the terrorist attacks.

And people think it beyond the U.S.A to be involved in 9/11.

COINTELPRO:

From wikipedia, "COINTELPRO (an acronym for COunter INTELligence PROgram) was a series of covert, and at times illegal,[1][2] projects conducted by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting domestic political organizations."

Beginning in 1969, leaders of the Black Panther Party were targeted by the COINTELPRO and "neutralized" by being murdered, assassinated, imprisoned, publicly humiliated or falsely charged with crimes.

Fred Hampton is one case in point. A genius who was assassinated at age 21 by the FBI over fears about his growing influence. From memory it took nearly 20 years for 'justice' to be served in regards to his assassination.

Hampton was an educator, organiser and fed the homeless. He spoke about a better quality of life for all. I would encourage anyone to research Fred Hampton above anything else mentioned in this post, as he is a positive light and the rest is what is wrong with the world.

Truth is, this upcoming strike is to uphold the red line on the use of chemical weapons, nothing more. It's a protest via missiles. I don't think it's wrong or unethical to proceed, but for sure it is entirely pointless. All Syrian assets have been moved to Russian bases, the west is letting off, the enemy watches and adapts, they will do it again. Sadly the only way to stop this is successful regime change (has never happened). I know a particular Labour MP, one of the Blairites and she today is as utterly disconnected to reality as she was 20 years ago, they simply do not understand real people or the way of the world, they are stuck in their principled bubble and it helps nobody.

Russia already vetoed investigating the site, I suspect they will also veto military action.

Not just once, Russia has vetoed an independent UN investigation of chemical weapons use by the Assad regime SIX times. The UN is impotent when a Security Council member refuses to cooperate - see a gazillion resolutions on Israel vetoed by the US.

International law isn’t really a thing, it’s just a set of norms the West is willing to coercively impose on others. Best case it is mostly done with benign intent, but that’s clearly not always the case.

That’s why this current political/media debate over Syria is so frustrating. Of course it is preferable to get UN backing & stick to letter of international law, but where that’s impossible, what to do? Accept chemical weapons is bad but won’t be punished?

May is wrong not to have recalled Parliament to debate this, but equally (going by Diane Abbott’s interview on Radio 4 earlier - which btw was up to her usual comical standards) its a conversation based not on reality, but on intellectually dishonest positions that are objectively impossible to reconcile with reality.
