sir_gary_cahill
How good could this guy be? I think he's right up there with xavi and iniesta and he's only 20, he makes arsenal tick and I'm sure England would've done better at the euros had he been fit, could be one of the all time greats imo

sir_gary_cahill
Why on earth not? He makes arsenal tick at such a young age, he played well against them at the nou camp a couple of years ago
AVFCforever1991
No yet. Has bags of potential though.
Troglodyte Posted December 16, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted December 16, 2012 He's a similar style of player, which is great for English football. I agree that he has bags of talent now, never mind his potential, but he's not in the same league as Xavi and Iniesta. Then again, is anyone? Pirlo is probably the nearest thing to Xavi in world football at the moment, and personally I don't think anyone compares to Iniesta.
sir_gary_cahill
I think he's up there already personally, the sky's the limit for him
AVFCforever1991
Great for English football though. If Wilshere grew up in Spain or Holland etc, he would be better IMO.
Troglodyte Posted December 16, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted December 16, 2012 I think he's up there already personally, the sky's the limit for him Maybe, but if he's in the sky already, then Xavi and Iniesta are in the stratosphere.
sir_gary_cahill
Why do you think that avfcforever1991
AVFCforever1991
Because they develop young players better. Technical players. Their coaching level is higher than ours, of young players. The Barca Youth play in the Segunda, the Equivalent of the championship, Its like Our academy playing in the championship week in, week out.

Milfner
Can we not make a thread for you to make ludicrous comments about players? Jack Wilshere on the same level as Xavi and Iniesta? Doing me a **** favour.
sir_gary_cahill
How is he not on that level, he carries arsenal and on the rare occasion that he's played for England he has looked top drawer
AVFCforever1991
He's not on that level yet.
villa4europe
he needs to add goals to his game, he'll be a key player for england and one of the best we have produced in a long long time, agree with the comments about xavi and iniesta though, they will go down as 2 of the best players in the world ever i think we are getting excited here because most people believe that he is the type of midfielder that is now required to suceed and he is pretty much the only one we have, if he was spanish would people be this excited or just compare him with thiago and isco? because IMO thats where he is currently, spain already have 4/5 midfielders better than him and another 2 at least coming through at the same level
Troglodyte Posted December 16, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted December 16, 2012 I don't think many would argue that Xavi and Iniesta aren't the best midfielders of their generation. To say that Wilshere is already on their level is crazy.
