bickster Posted December 15, 2012 Moderator Share Posted December 15, 2012 As much as Benteke is the obvious MOTM, it really was a team performance, every man out there did a job, no hiding or shirking and they played as a team. The spirit was wonderful to see. Great result and great confidence booster
CI
Hopefully this is the catalyst to a great 2nd half to the season. When did we last score 3 in the PL ? Wolves away ?
The_Steve
RAWK Meltdown @RAWK_Meltdown ... the inconsistency of refereeing just makes me sick. RAWK Meltdown @RAWK_Meltdown Completely dominated Villa today RAWK Meltdown @RAWK_Meltdown Hicks and Gillett have set this club back 20 years. switters
Perfect away performance - absorbed their pressure & got the blocks and saves when necessary, then potent on the counter attack. Only one man for MOTM 'cause his goals and assist won the match, but it was a great collective performance and considering only 2 of the starting lineup were over 24 up against a pretty experienced Liverpool side, that's so great. Feel happier about Villa than I have for several years! Chelsea away next - tricky, but with them having had to travel to Japan this week, we should be going there with a lot of confidence. Brumerican
Unacceptable!!! I don't care how much of the ball we had - This result is unacceptable for Liverpool Football. Losing 3-1 to Villa is nothing short of a disgrace.
mjmooney Posted December 15, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted December 15, 2012 Rodgers: It was a clear penalty [when Ciaran Clark pulled Daniel Agger's shirt] and if you get that it is 2-1 and the pressure can start to build.
samjp26
29 shots for Liverpool, only 8 of them were on target - SSN are bigging us up and can now see big things for us apparently harhar
The_Steve
Aston Villa's starting XI today was the youngest seen in the Premier League this season so far - they averaged 23 years, 309 days old.

sexbelowsound
Liverpool had 17 shots on target according to the BBC website but did we ever actually look under threat? A few scrambles here and there but that was in no way, shape or form a domination by Liverpool. Also, Another notch in favour of Lambert's transfers. Rodgers spend close to £30 million this summer on Allen, Assaidi and Borini! Whole team 10/10.
The_Steve
Liverpool wouldn't have had that many shots on target had we not sat back after scoring the third. What was their shot ratio for the first half?
Brumerican
Aston Villa are the last team to net 3 at Klanfield since.....Aston villa .
samjp26
The penalty shout was simply two players pulling on each others shirt, even the scouse commentator said it was 6 of one and half a dozen of the other and the ref got it right. screwdriver
It was the perfect text book away performance. Beneteke and Weiman look like they've got good telepathy in the Withe Shaw mold. Both can finish. Everyone put a shift in. Lichaj dispossessed Suarez for the first. Suarez tried to skin him with a bit of skill but eric mugged him and we punished them. The 2nd was a great passing move.
