dakid007 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I have brought my son a villa top from Xmas with name on and the lettering has gone slightly red/pink is this normal or should I exchange it?
Stevo985 Posted December 13, 2012 VT Supporter Posted December 13, 2012 *bought But no I don't think that's normal. I'd give the shop a ring and ask them, but have you washed it? if so maybe the colours ran in the wash? If it's the latter, then I think whoever washed it is to blame unfortunately. If it's unwashed, then doesn't sound right to me

ThunderPower_14 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I'd take it back if it's still in the bag, definitely.

islingtonclaret Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Refunded at sportsdirect bought new one at villa shop There gona be one happy boy in my house at Xmas Until the 'Macron man' on the shoulder comes off after about 10 washes!
dakid007 Posted December 13, 2012 Author Posted December 13, 2012 Until the 'Macron man' on the shoulder comes off after about 10 washes! Is this a standard problem on em
dakid007 Posted December 13, 2012 Author Posted December 13, 2012 Don't wash it on 60• Try a cold wash Thx
GarethRDR Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 If people are washing their football shirts on 60 friggin' degrees, it's no bloody wonder they're melting; bed linen and towels on 60°, whites on 50°, coloureds on 40° and delicates i.e. football shirts on 30° maximum, for the love of Ra!
islingtonclaret Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Mine's peeling, been washing at 40. Didn't realise even this was overkill!
briny_ear Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 So, Gareth, any views on using a fabric softener with the shirts?
djdabush Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 So, Gareth, any views on using a fabric softener with the shirts? Don't get him started, he's the modern day Dot Cotton.
GarethRDR Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 So, Gareth, any views on using a fabric softener with the shirts? If they've got a name/number on the back absolutely not, it'll loosen the bond.
Ghost Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 I thought the macron man peeling off the shoulders was a good thing? Wasn't that everyone's issue with the tops in the first place?
CI Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Gareth is the ultimate VT metrosexual cottager Good luck to him I say ;-)
R.I.C.O. Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 My 1982 shirt can take all sorts of punishment. I even washed it on a 95 wash once by mistake and it still survived completely intact. The current season shirts by Macron look tacky, ill-fitting and cheap. Even the training wear looks dire and cobbled together - and the whole lot will be made redundant in six months time. Do yourselves a favour and get yourselves a retro shirt, they are timeless! If you are all so desperate to have a crappy sponsor on there, get the 1992/1993 Muller ones! 3

The macron shirts remind me of the hummel mkII shirts we had a few years back with all the chevrons falling off the sleeves etc. but some of the training gear looks not bad. Missus has purchased me the 1992 retro Villa shirt with the laces on the neck for xmas. .
islingtonclaret Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Agreed that at the moment, the 1981 season / 1982 euro ones are probably the best looking and best made offical gear you can get at the moment.
