Shillzz
This will be the first time I've been to two games in the same season before (I think), after I went to the Swansea game earlier in the season. I would start with: Guzan Lowton - Vlaar© - Clark - Baker El Ahmadi - Westwood Weimann - Ireland - Gabby Benteke Stoke are poor away from home usually, though they did just beat Baggies at The Hawthorns I guess. I'll go with 2-0 to us. I'd be tempted to go for this, though I don't think El Ahmadi has done enough to suggest that he should be in the first team ahead of Bannan. Apart from that, I can see Holman keeping his place, though I'd be happier with Weimann in there myself.

darrenm
I would go for Guzan Lowton Vlaar Baker Clark Westwood El Ahmadi Bannan Ireland Agbonlahor Benteke Would probably switch one of the midfield or attack for Bent in the second half, depending on how we are doing after the first 45. I think this could be an interesting match, if we get into the game from the off and stifle their style of play, put them on the back foot, then i can see us winning easily. if we play like we have the last 2 games we don't stand a chance. hoping for a win, not because of who we're playing but because of who we have to play in the next few games. Despite everyone slagging off stoke i am really looking forward to this game and want to watch it. i think this is a great test to see how far we've come and where we are currently. Prove the pundits wrong, lads. Love that line-up.
TrentVilla Posted December 6, 2012 Moderator Share Posted December 6, 2012 Clark is just not a full back and would get hopelessly exposed there just as he has been previously, with that line up we would be better with Lichaj at LB than Clark. CI
I'd rather see Baker at LB than Clark I've a feeling Lambert will play Stevens though if fit

CI
Clark is a liability at LB. Agree, and he needs to man up a bit at CB IMHO He tends to get bullied off the ball too much
avfcNelse
Had a dream last night that we would win this 7-0, but I have a strange feeling that just might not happen.

AvfcTheObsession
Anyone know if Stoke are bringing many for this? I remember they only had the upper tier last year, despite it not exactly being far! I can only see there being 32-33k overall.
KjParton
Stoke have shit support, they'll probably bring 1000 like they did last time. Shit team.

wedge
I'm from Staffordshire originally and for us Staffs-based Villans Stoke are more of an annoyance than our traditional rivals, horrid team with horrid fans.Big game for the Belgian Beast! Just seen someone post on twitter that Stoke have sold 1300 out of 1650 allocation. They are moaning about the prices, £39 for adults. That's the price we've had to pay at the majority of grounds this season!

Not saying he hasn't had bad games at LB, but that was a while back now and since then the manager has changed and he has manned up a bit in general. i personally see it like this; Clark might not be good at LB, but Lichaj and Stevens wouldn't be able to play to their best in this game, and i feel Baker would be so much more effective against Stoke if he's placed in the middle of our defence. LockStockVilla
I like Clark, but would not trust him at LB. The last time he played there was against Wolves and he was torn a new one by Kightly (who also plays for Stoke now). I'd prefer Baker or Lichaj there.
