Will be interesting who they sign as CF in the January. That really will define their season. Wonder if they'll go for someone like En-Nesyri.

Lopetegui wasn't happy about Jimenez going to World cup when he's been injured since August so he won't be figuring much and Costa was just a punt after Kaladzic injury so he'll just be a impact sub.

Probably another CB is needed aswell as they really lack depth at the back. Would be amusing if they make Coady's loan permanent as they play Everton in the penultimate game of the season and that's looking a relegation decider at present so would be odd to allow them to get him permanently if there's no option in the deal.

The squad isn't big enough for a start, they've not got enough depth in too many positions

They should have enough to stay up but bad injury luck to certain first teamers, jimenez again, and they're in massive trouble

They went too young over the last 2 years, lots of potential that's not ready and out on loan

Been bizarre the thinking with Fabio Silva. Played loads in his first season but understandbly for someone at 19 was too much. Even in the run in last season he was playing a fair bit but then they just loan him out to Anderlecht which feels an odd decision if they're still banking on him to be a decent premier league striker eventually.

Think they know aswell they should've sold Adama 18 months ago when his stock was pretty high. Now he's doing little and likes of Spurs certainly won't be interested in him as they were last January.

It'll be interesting to see if there are players looking to jump ship in January.

The managerial appointment is a good one I think, and the league is going to be very unpredictable, but unless they find ways to score goals it's going to be very tough for them.

Adama is probably their 3rd or 4th best winger and has been for a few seasons

Definitely should have cashed in

Conte was still desperate to get him in last January as a wing back. Instead they just loaned him to Barca for probably 6-7m loan fee and  assumed they'd just sign him permanently in summer given Barca were signing so many attackers but didn't happen.

Will get a massively reduced fee for Neves aswell if they go down given he'll only have 12 months left on his deal compared to selling him in any point in last 12 months.

Why's Costa having such a shocker? Always seemed decent albeit a thug. Just too old/past it?

He declined pretty badly at Atletico Madrid and they released him early from his deal, think that was early 2020. Then went back to Brazil and hadn't played for six months by the time Wolves picked him up so was never going to hit the ground running.

He was just a stop gap given they couldn't have foreseen Kaladzic getting ruled out for the season on his debut. At least we got Kamara back pretty quickly and hopefully Diego Carlos will be back in contention by March.

Wolves not having much luck with centre-forwards, Kalajdžić, Costa, Willian José, Fábio Silva, and Cutrone have only scored seven league goals combined between them in ninety plus Premier League appearances. According to transfermarkt they paid seventy-nine million euros in transfer fees for those five players.

He was good at Hertha Berlin, just hasn't kicked on since which plenty of forwards at Atletico haven't in last few seasons. Might come off but then Guedes had a solid scoring record in Spain and he's been very poor for them so far.

Nearly half time and they've failed to score versus the worst current team in the top four leagues. Front 3 tonight of Podence, Diego Costa and Guedes.

Did Matheus Nunes go to the WC with Portugal? Don't remember him featuring for them and I remember the endless hype on here after his debut at Spurs, now he's bench warming behind some Hodge guy.

Its a loan with obligation to buy 40m.

So if he flops on loan they still have to sign him. These loans with obligations to buy can sometimes **** you up. They should just sign him now because if he flops and they ahve to blow 40m on him the fans are going to be furious

For that amount im glad we didnt bother. Better value out there than this and his record looks very suspect. Big risk this one as i think english football is tougher than spanish football in terms of physicality and time on the ball
