This is where us ripping out the heart of their academy is underrated

you can do what baggies are doing if you have a core of young players who will come through and ultimately benefit from it but they don’t, they also lost Ferguson to palace last summer, not a single player under the age of 21 in this squad

theres no plan there, they might come back up, they might stay down there for 2 to 3 years and then come back up but it’s hard to see them doing anything other than exactly the same, there’s no progression

who in this team would you say the PL was a step too much for them, go away get 40 games next season in the championship then come back the year after PL ready? There is no one

Their core group of academy players is every bit as good as ours.

We've turned the tide, but they've still got a good core of players. Expect a very close game in the FA youth Cup.

dont think so, getting relegated with one of the lowest points total will kill the confidence

Maybe it could be like what happened with us. But their squad is strong.  Depends who they keep

Curious if Sam stays or not. Guess it all depends on the budget.

West brom, Norwich etc their best hope is to become a lower mid table PL club like Palace.

If they go up next year, then a full season with Big Sam in charge would probably keep them up. Like us, if they can stay up just once they can reinvest in quality and stabilise.

Big Sam stepping down. From his statement it sounds like he may be walking away from football.

Although I could make a crass joke about having done that about 10 years ago.

badum-tish

I don't think we will be seeing them again for a while now Big Sam has left the sinking ship.......which he was captain of.

Wow a win rate of 16% after 25 games. Thats just terrible.

No chance and would be a bad move for both parties.

Thought he would be a decent appointment thought he had time to turn it around but he never once looked invested.

If they keep him on he will leave before Christmas. Pointless.

Never looked arsed from the day he stepped into the job. Yes it is WbA so it's funny but it's actually a disgrace.

Stolen money out of the game.

I'm not surprised after spending a few months there. It'd be enough to batter anyone's morale.

Fat Sam moaning that he is being pigeonholed as a relegation expert short term manager, and yet buggers off as soon as Albion go down.

Compared that to the classy way that Roy Hodgson is leaving his hometown club at Palace. Sums up the difference between them.

Surely nobody will be hiring this guy again? Over 20 years of management and less than a 40% winning percentage. When it comes down to it he did one decent job at Bolton,  an acceptable one at Blackburn and West Ham and a car crash everywhere else.

Expect to see him at Watford in about January then.

Quite literally by all accounts.

Allegedly.

one of the worst managerial appointments in Premier League history, a win record to make Remi Garde feel proud

Pardew at the Albion was just as bad if not worse.

Based on games since he's been there they're only in the bottom three on goal difference, Sheffield United and Southampton have been worse in that time, and Fulham have been just as bad in terms of points. To be frank not sure if anyone else would have done a better job given the Albion squad, Bilić certainly wasn't doing any better.
