I see that horrible clearing in the woods has been bigging McGuiness up saying he was an hero and a great person. They should sack him and **** him back off to Ireland. Disrespectful clearing in the woods.

Its not really a sackable offence though is it. To many McGuiness is a hero as seen at the turn out at his funeral, to others his a villain and to some like me thinks he is both.

I am not McClean biggest fan and think he can be hypocritical at times but I can see why he supports McGuinness and isnt that shocking. He also in fairness to him does a hell of a lot for charity and is wearing 5 tonight to commemorate a former team-mate who passed away last week

Surprising that, as Pulis seemed to quite like him. Not sure who their centre back cover is now.

He must have a few new centre backs lined up!

Considering they're all going on  about what a great season they've had they're still on 45 points, only 7 points away from 17th. Just proves how poor the league is this year.

It's the same every season. The difference between finishing 9th and 17th is usually only ever around 7 or 8 points. There's the top 6, then Everton and then the rest are all just looking to stay up and get 40 points. It's one of the (many) reasons I have lost interest in the premier league.

Yep I remember a season which may have been MON's first when we got 50 points and still finished bottom half.

As much as Pulis has done a good job there he's only got 4 more points than what Lambert picked up in his first season (41) which was widely considered to be a disaster.

West Brom will end their interest in Leeds defender Charlie Taylor if an agreement over compensation cannot be reached, manager Tony Pulis insists.

The 23-year-old, who joined Leeds aged nine, is out of contract this summer.

However, as he is under 24, any club he signs for would have to pay Leeds a fee related to his development.

Pulis said: "A tribunal could put an extraordinary amount of money on it and you're stuck with it. It's a risk that, at this moment, is not worth taking."

It has been reported that the Baggies have offered £3.5m in compensation for the player, who became the subject of internal disciplinary proceedings from Leeds after refusing to play in the club's final league match of the season.

The Leeds player of the season in 2015-16 is understood to have been fined two weeks' wages for his refusal to play at Wigan.

Regarding the compensation figure for the left-back, Pulis added: "We wanted to find out what the price was to see if we'd be interested.

"If it's going to go to tribunal, we don't know what the price is and I think that takes us out of the game."

Seriously, this club must be absolutely raking in the money and they are aguing over paying a tribunal fee ( which are always very kind to the buying club)

It also means DCI Garry Monk was right when he said Taylor was being very poorly advised through the season.  This backfire would be very amusing from the outside looking in :)

It's same old story for pullis sides though. They get to 40 points and safety and then stop trying. It's why he's never taken that step up to a bigger club

Isn't that nearly triple what we got last season? :(

The Premier League is painfully weak at the moment, which makes our current predicament all the more frustrating.

Chelses and Spurs are OK. The next 5 are all very poor considering the spending. And then the bottom 13 is just complete dross.

Pulis shortlisted as manager of the season shows just how weak the league is. West Brom have lost way more than they've won, and have spent a fair bit.

That's not true.  In the past 10 years, for example, the gap between 9th and 17th has been as follows : 12pts, 16, 14, 7, 15, 8, 15, 16, 19, 16.  So only twice has it gone under 12pts and is usually in the 14 to 16 range.

Its such a embarassment that they are the only midlands club. But ALbion can get away with this as they have no one to compete against. If we were dominating like we always were Albion would try harder

One of the most boring, non-descript clubs in football history.

I would disagree actually.  I know they're nothing to us, but on the football landscape they're a proper club.  5 time FA Cup winners (with 5 more runner ups), a league championship and a league cup.  Plus their name, like ours, is pretty cool in amongst all the generic X Towns and X Uniteds.  If they weren't a local rival that I'm obliged to dislike, I'd probably think they're alright.

OK I'm going for a sit down now.

EDIT : I appreciate that I always have the 'luxury' of distance too.  I don't have to work/live/socialise with Baggies fans and that might change things :)

Living in the Black Country and very close proximity to them, I can ensure you they are insufferable. Pretty much every single one of them to a man hates us. Also now in they're in the prem, they all have to wear a club apparel at all possible times, yet when in championship they were never  to be seen.
