I cant see anything but a comfortable win for The Mackems.

McLean and Johnson will have a field down down our wings due to our narrow style of play - and Cattermole wont have an easier 'battle' in the midfield as El Ahmandi is suspended. Add to that its against MON and they are massively overdue a win due to their poor winning record (1 in 16 or something) and for me it all points to a comfortable home win. Not to mention the sloppy goals we're giving away.

I'm going with 3-1 Sunderland and the start of a catastrophic November for us. Hope i'm wrong.

My crystal ball is telling me :

Early rise

Leave at 07 30

Commence the usual activity that is associated with an away day

10 30 Stop at a pleasant hostilary en route

12 30 continue journey

13 30 arrive at Sunderland and head for hostilary

1500 - 1650 endure frustration, boredom, crap football, probably no goals and a defeat endless whinging but a good sing song

1730 commence return journey and imbibatious activity

1730 - 1830 moan about how shit we are, why the manager won't play Darren Bent, How weak our defence is, How anonimous our midfield is - How were never going to waste another penny on them again

1830 Commence alcohol induced singing and talking bollocks all the way home

2130 Arrive home and head straight for the pub - discuss how shit we are and that we are ain't gonna be going ever again

2200 Alcohol induced dance off in the pub followed by argument about who wins

2300 Arrange who is going to get the tickets for QPR AND Norwich

0000 Collapse into a coma with the wife sarcastically asking if I've had a good time but being unable to reply :)

Johnson hasn't been that good this season tbh..

That's why I'm worried. We always act as a springboard for either an individuals or whole teams fortunes

Needs to be three points.

Don't see any reason why we can't get them either. They are as bad as us.

Yep, 1 win in 16 for them, marginally better than us, fletch the only goalscorer but we just love breaking others bad runs.

Lineup wise would like to see:

--------------Guzan-----------------

Lowton---Vlaar--Clark-----Lichaj

---------Delph---Ireland-----------

Holman--------------------Bannan

---------Bent-------Benteke-------

or if Herd was fit...

--------------Guzan-----------------

Lowton---Vlaar--Clark-----Lichaj

---------------Herd------------------

Holman-----Ireland------Bannan

---------Bent-------Benteke-------

We may get few chances due to the way Sunderland play but if we can take them and stay organised when they're on the break we should win. I'll say 0-2.

I'd play -

--------------Bent---Benteke-------------

--------------Agbonlahor------------------

---------Delph----------Ireland------------

-----------------Holman---------------------

Bennett---Vlaar------Clark------Lowton

-------------------Guzan--------------------

With Weimann getting at least half an hour.

I am going to this match. For the life of me, I can't work out why. It's going to be a long, expensive journey, it's going to be cold, and possibly wet, we almost certainly won't play well, or get a result.

UTV

One of the best posts I've seen on VT. Exactly my thought process before most Villa away games!
