Gentingthereslowly Posted October 20, 2012 Share Posted October 20, 2012 This 'awful' shit is a massive overreaction - we don't have the players anymore to go to Fulham, who have improved massively in the last couple of years, and expect to win. We fought hard in that game but lacked anything in the final third - we really need to work on the attacking side of our midfield. Why do you think that is? Bent is a proven goal scorer (Spurs, Sunderland etc), Ireland a proven creator of goals (man city), Gabby gets his fair share. These were all well respected seen as good signings by most and now are fans are arguing whose the worst out of them. what gives?? Unfortunately its a team game. Teams attack and defend as units, we dont. Look at other teams, they have midfielders who get into the box and score (Noble, Nolan, Michu to name but a few today). Ours dont, Delph and KEA take five touches until there both ten yards from our box, our defenders hoof it long and the gap is too big....time and time and time again... Whats holmans job?? to make tackles is it?? He doesnt run with the ball, find passes or anything else If this is his job why are delph and KEA doing the same role. Our midfield is so unbalanced. Don't forget we've already been hammered by this seasons whipping boys. If McLeish can keep us up though then I have faith Lambert will aswell. Raging. Id go 3-1-3-1-2 like Napoli, or 3-5-2 like Italy. This diamond thing is bollocks, it may have worked 10 years ago when people played it but not now, we are so narrow oppostion players just run from box to box. Lambert's gamble V stability is failing and come January no amount of Randy's new found wealth will save us from the drop. How many managers need to fail before Lerner gets knocked off his pedestal? If you systematically sell all of your best players that got you to a cup final and consecutive top 6 places, and only allow resources to replace them on the cheap, guess what, the team turns to shit. QPR, we couldn't beat them last season and they will pick up points over the season. Wigan are our bogey team and up their game against us. Southampton battered us already. You're only looking at individual games. If those teams aren't all worse than us then why are they all below us bar Wigan? Reading - definitely Norwich - definitely, we have also beat them in the past 12 months as well QPR - presently definitely. They may have lots of names but they're currently on a worse run of form Southampton - definitely. He needs to get the ball from the deep lying midfielders who persisted in passing it back to the CBs to bang long all game.
