Spain really hasn't handled this very well.

If the Chinese did what the Spanish central government are doing, can you imagine the posturing. Astonishingly clumsy, given that it's all really about the cash they contribute vs receive or at least that's the seed for the latest independence effort.

To be fair to the Basques and Catalans there's few places I can think of in Europe where people have such a strong sense of independence. Maybe Sami people in Norway or the French part of Belgium? When Yugoslavia broke up I sort of thought that was it. If the Catalans want independence and the Basque people supports it while the Spanish government refuses I can see this turning into a mess.

I think they might actually get a vote out of this.

They can't get near the schools to shut them.:D

Does our Brexit bill get smaller as the EU gets smaller and more fragmented,  we should ask that smug word removed Barnier at some point.

I find it all both interesting and amusing all at once.

Hhmmm, lot's of footage of the police getting nasty, smashing their way in to schools and beating people with sticks.

Firing rubber bullets in to crowds too, now. Way to win the hearts and minds.

Obviously the EU will be all over this, protecting democracy and citizens.
