Commentary on last nights game was hilariously bad. McGinn is Irish while Rogers was an ex Sunderland player

Then kept ranting everytime Pinnock was near the ball that he needed to be careful as was already booked

Posted

Martin keown last night on motd stating Rogers has been great for us in recent matches.

Just embarrassing really the fact another paid pundit has not bothered with doing a bit of research.

As was the coverage of the match. I lost count the amount of times they were showing a replay when it was clear that the match was still active.

Oh, and here's another top comment!!!

TBF it was obvious in context that she meant the season before last and just misspoke.

Yeah but she is the easy target. Hardly nothing is said by these banter pages when male pundits come out with rubbish like Gary Neville predicts United finishing over Liverpool, Micah Richards tells people he was top class and whatever Troy Deeney is spouting this week

Some of these male experts probably have no idea who Konsa and Mings are

why is she an easy target? is it because she continually gets things wrong and in general she's useless?

as an aside, the commentry team of Steve Wilson and Lucy Bronze were calling Kamara, Kamra all night!!!

Easy target. If she was any good at her job she would'nt be such a easy target, poor Aluko. An your trying to suit a narrative yet again. The  men get ripped all the time, believe me. The likes of Micah and Neville, Carrahger get tore to oieces on social nedia all the time, an on here, I've done it myself. So does Sherarer actually, with his over bias love for Newcastle.

Man, how can you never spell 'and' properly?  I could understand shortening it to 'n', but 'an' bugs me no end.

Next two posts; about women :D

Respectfully, why does their gender matter? If a pundit, paid for their insight and expertise, makes a cockup saying stupid, ill informed crap then they're fair game to get called out.

They're all generally shite. Christ, this thread is 466 pages long for goodness sake.

They are

And there are plenty of accounts dedicated to digging out Michael Owens awful punditry too

Shame no one targets Danny Murphy

Edit - but I will admit it, I'm biased against female commentators, never found one that I like which is putting me off new ones (I don't mind Kate abdo as a host and like Alex Scott in the studio) we had two women for I think palace, found that weird

At the same time I am very much in the everyone is useless boat

This pissed me off a little bit on the BBC. Article about who the best Premier League era centre back is.

McGrath gets mentioned in the article, and is one of only 3 CBs to win the PFA Player of the year. Is he in the shortlist of ten? Of course he isn't.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ce90jgzxk9ko

Quote

It led ex-Reds defender Jamie Carragher to declare on social media, external that Van Dijk is "the best centre-back we've ever seen in the Premier League".

"I always said it was John Terry before Van Dijk came along," he continued.

"All great defenders of the past had attackers who caused them problems, but who ever causes Van Dijk any?

"He's just played against [Real Madrid's Kylian] Mbappe and Haaland in the last four days and played them with such ease he could've played with a cigar.

"Please stop this silly debate about the best centre-back, it's not even close."

Oh, it absolutely doesn't matter - just that one of the posters in question has an absolute hard on for it.

Internal bias set in from however long watching an entirely male dominated sport.  It's ingrained in us.

As an example, Paolo Bandini (as was) is a very well respected sports journalist and regular on the Football Weekly podcast.  Came out as trans and changed their name to Nicky Bandini; same personality, same way of expressing views about the game, same (if not more, as time goes on!) knowledge... but different voice.  Even as someone who doesn't give a shit who is commentating on the game or talking about football, I find myself struggling to have exactly the same... confidence(?) in the views of the same person doing the same job.

Social conditioning is a powerful and weird thing.

I have Soccer Saturday on for a while, some pure morons on there. Sherwood, Merson, Dawson, absolutely shocking the rubbish they come out with.

Just want to note for VT. I'm about to slag off a man.

Danny Mills. Frack me, he is the most annoying totally biased to Man City pundit on TV and radio. What a cock.

You obviously haven't heard Paul Robinson on Radio WM. Wears his former ability to kick people and pretend to be hard as a badge of honour.
