Owen, Phil Neville and Scholes have played at the absolute highest level of the men's game and are tedious, cliche-spouting gobshites. A commentator's genitals or their own personal ability compared to the players they're talking about is a complete irrelevance if they know what they're talking about. Carney is rubbish because she talks tedious bollocks, and it has absolutely nothing to do with her being a woman. I don't disagree with you that the women's game is absolutely miles away from top tier men's football, I reckon a League 1 or 2 side could give the top women's teams a good hiding, but it mostly comes down to the raw physical attributes. Men are bigger, stronger, and faster, so women just can't perform at the same level. It doesn't mean that they can't understand the game or offer insight into a match though, so I think it's just a bit much to write off all women as commentators because their game isn't as good.
