I'm not so sure he has been very fair to Bent who has a record of a goal in nearly every other game in the Premier League, Injuries have cost Bent as well but although he plays in a different position I am not sure he should be picking Bowery when we have a proven top class scorer on our books.

He's been fair to Bent.

It's not like he's been dropped for an inferior player; we play with 1 main striker - the best one we've had this century. It's unlucky for Bent, but it's not a deliberate act of bias by Lambert.

He was dropped for an inferior player early on in the season when Bowery was on the bench while he was left out the squad completely.

Bent couldn't play out wide thought, that's what Bowery was there to cover.

He's got Benteke, Weimann and Agbag already in the team who could can play that solo position up front better than Bent.

Every time Bent has played this season, he's been poor.

To be fair, we don't know what Bent's attitude in training had been like when he was left out of the squad. He may have been carrying a knock?

was a kick up the arse for Bent to say he wasnt undroppable which he never responded. Lambert was spot on

From the Telegraph

Richard Dunne is facing the end of his Aston Villa career after Paul Lambert revealed he will not play again this season.

Dunne has finally been ruled out of Lambert's plans after struggling with persistent hip and groin injuries and is expected to leave in the summer.

The Republic of Ireland international's contract expires at the end of this season and he has not kicked a ball since Lambert's appointment last June.

And though Lambert insists no decision has been made on extending Dunne's four-year stay, the 33 year-old's chances of a new deal appear remote.

He said: "It’s unlikely he will play this season because of the injury he’s had, but he’s doing a lot better.

"It’s an incredible injury and something I’ve not come across. He will just have to wait and see for his own career. You can’t talk about his future because the main thing was to get him fit to play the game of football and at the minute he is doing fine with his rehabilitation."

Hmmm, looks like he might be on his way in the summer.

I don't believe for one second that Lambert - a Glaswegian - has never come across alcoholism before.
