P3te
Not really an outright denial "I haven’t even thought about anything like selling Richard" sounds like one to me
Bazdavies79
I'm not a fan, I wanted him gone. But as it stands we have two youthful FB's and Vlaar. I think on this occasion I'd keep Dunne. As slow and as clumsy as he can be, I think his experience will help the others settle. When is he due back?
Woody1000
I've got mixed feelings about Dunne for this season, part of me doesn't want to see him wear a Villa shirt again, but the other part of me feels that Vlaar may be able to bring the 'Old Dunne' back and we might get some use out of the final year of his contract. I would rather see Clark or Baker get a game before him as surely it's better they gained another seasons experience at CB, than give Dunne game time for him to leave on a free next summer. VillaChris
He can still have good games though. Last season he came back from injury and was immense at WBA and apart from the ridiculous penalty, was pretty good at home to Spurs. Those two draws got us over the line. My feelings are I don't want him playing every week but I'd rather have a player of his experience to come in and play a few games if Clark loses form and needs to be rested for a few weeks. troon_villan
Can't believe all the hate for Dunne on this site, it really baffles me sometimes.
VillaGoMarching
Never want to see that liability in a villa shirt again.
briny_ear
A Dunne/Vlaar combo at CB definitely deserves a serious try out and I'd be surprised if Lambert didn't give it a run. There is quite a lot of unjstified criticism of him on this site.
roonst83
I like Dunne.

switters
It's good that he's still in the squad because he may yet be needed, but it would be great if by the time he's back from injury the Vlaar-Clark combo is looking well enough established that he can't get in the team. Condimentalist
No longer first choice for me but he's been a decent player for us overall. In his first season especially he was outstanding. I do fear his legs may have gone a bit, though.
picicata
As long as he can get properly fit I have no problem with Dunne, but I think his fitness is going to be a real issue this year.
AVFCforever1991
I say give him a chance, Just like Lambert has given a chance to Guzan and he has flourished.. Who knows Dunne might do the same?
Rodders
my concern was he would keep clark or baker out of they side simply due to being older, but lambert has shown so far I think that if you play well you keep the shirt, so if Clark progress' I'm not concerned about his development being stifled by Dunne as I m confident Lambert will keep the faith. With this in mind, I'm happy to have him as a squad player for the final year of his spell here.

LondonLax
I am very happy he is still here. If we had moved him on and Vlaar got injured we would be **** basically.
Folski
Good cover in case anyone gets injured but Ideally I would like to see himself, Given, Hutton & Warnock all gone in January, I would imagine that would clear about £180k a week off the wage budget. I wouldn't mind seeing us blood Bengi Siegrist in the coming months in the same way Newcastle did with Tim Krul.
Bazdavies79
Baker ain't ready and Clark has more clangers than Dunne in him.
chappy
I like Dunne but want to see Clark/Baker alongside Vlaar because they are the future and Dunne will be gone in a year anyway.
Jarpie
I think Dunne will be gone in january and Lambert brings in younger replacement.
