Would be happy with him, and like the fact he has premier league experience unlike Cresswell/Bennet, Kind of kills two birds with one stone too as he can also play left wing which we need. If he is gash defensively, we can use him as a midfielder all the time and sign another left back - happy days!

Think Olsson would be a great addition, particularly considering PL's preference for roving fullbacks. Ok so he may not be the best defensively, but he has 4 goals from 12 international appearances, which is feckin' great for a left back IMO.

Also his agent is also the agent of Ola Toivonen from PSV, so, you know, two birds etc..

Not in the Blackburn squad tonight... Hmm...

wouldnt read much into it, Steve Kean probably doesnt know who he is

You think? probably thinks Marcus and Martin are the same person!

I wonder if we could get two for the price of one? :)

West Brom make a move for Blackburn's Martin Olsson

WEST Bromwich Albion have made a move for Blackburn Rovers defender Martin Olsson - as they step up their pursuit of left-sided defensive cover.

The Baggies have been in talks with counterparts at Ewood Park with a view to signing the Sweden international on a permanent deal.

Olsson, an international team-mate of namesake Jonas and recent signing Markus Rosenberg, plays as a left-back, but can also operate further up the field.

The 24-year-old, who has three years left to run on a five-year deal, has not played this season, having handed in a transfer request during the summer.

Albion and Blackburn recently held positive discussions over the potential switch of Simon Cox, only for Rovers to ditch their pursuit and look elsewhere.

Whether Albion can come to an agreement with Rovers and the player himself remains to be seen, not least as there are other clubs monitoring him.

A potential alternative left-back option is Copenhagen’s Bryan Oviedo.

The Costa Rican left-back was watched recently by Albion, with representatives due to see him play again.

Oviedo was first linked with Albion earlier this summer.

The club have now resumed their interest as the Danish league is now underway, with Oviedo playing in their 1-0 Champions League victory against Lille earlier this week.
