Adrian was poor but honestly he was left horrendously exposed by their defence - we were able to just walk through them at will.

no saving those deflections either. we utterly bossed their defense tonight and it must have been so frustrating to be Adrian tonight. but honestly, suck it! UTV!

Tonight's demolition will have astronomical fallout for Liverpool. To be torn apart so easily by Leeds and then utterly obliterated by Villa could be the turning point for Liverpool's rise under Klopp - seems like teams are aware of how to beat them and Villa did so with devastating effect.

I can only imagine the Malcolm Tucker-esque outburst from Klopp in that dressing room. Oh to be a fly on the wall 🤣

Adrian is getting the blame but they were dreadful in defence and midfield, turned up expecting to win 3 or 4 nil. Has been a casualness in the team for a while and the worlds greatest ever defender in history was absolute shocking. Seen better displays from Hause

None of their defenders threw them selfs at shots to block the like ours do

That has to do with mindset more than anything. They don’t have to work hard, they’re better than everyone else.

Demolition. Astronomical fallout. Utterly obliterated. Devastating effect.

Like it.

Where are all these offside goals we scored that their posters are on about?

Always has to be some invented controversy so they can feel hard done-by, despite nearly always being on the favourable end of decisions.

"Long balls over the top" maybe 1 or 2 but how about the other 5, and add to that the chances that were missed.

If they don't see the real issue then they will not improve but they will. Watkins was allowed to win the ball with no pressure at all.

Liverpool were second to the ball all over the pitch. There was an arrogance combined with a laziness that saw them torn apart.

They were shell shocked that we were playing about 5 up front at times and didn’t have a clue what to do.

Nothing wrong with balls over the top, they played a ludicrously high line and Villa exploited it. It’s nothing to be defensive about (no pun intended).

It smacks of City crying when Leicester put 5 past them. boo hoo, they didn’t play how we wanted them to.

I thought we mixed it up, it wasn't all over the top, some of it was through the middle too and some decent wing play

It wasn't the 3 vs the fullback overlapping low and hard crosses stuff they play but it definitely wasn't hoof ball either

None of what we did was aimless

They were claiming Trez wad offside for the Watkins hat trick and that somebody was offside for the corner before McGinn goal

To be fair, Klopp specifically stated in the post-match press that Adrian was only at fault for the first goal, which is basically true (he's pretty unlucky to have three shots take enormous deflections in one match). He was also out of position from the one Watkins put on the bar, but other than that, he really wasn't that bad, and as you say, it was the lack of protection in front of him that mattered more.

He saved a 1 on 1 which is very rare too.
