OutByEaster? Posted August 18, 2012 Moderator Share Posted August 18, 2012 Baker left back and Holman starting ahead of Bannan - brave decisions.
MCU
Hopefully Baker at left back. How are we shaping up front? Ireland playing behind Bent or as a striker?
Nabby
Wow not alot of experience on the bench..

legov
Good front three, rest of the team looks worryingly weak. In the fullback positions we have today one player who has up till now only played in League 1, plus a youngster who's not even a natural leftback. :| Edit: That's a shit-looking Hammers team though

OutByEaster? Posted August 18, 2012 Moderator Share Posted August 18, 2012 Well done to Burke on the bench. It's bold, looks like one up top with a whole bunch of players buzzing around him. Baker gives us that bit more in the air.
Redditch_Villa
Looking at the West Ham team I see nothing to worry about. Slightly worried with our defence but we haven't kicked a ball this season yet. UTV.
briggaman
I would rather see Bannan, Herd or Gardner starting over Delph. He can be neat on the ball at times but I'm still far from convinced by him. The other three all offer more in my opinion. Anyway, I'm going for a 1-1 draw. Taking a point from their place would be decent on the first day of the season.
Big_John_10
Glad Delph is having a chance. I guess we'll see the difference between lambert and Mcleish playing 1 striker today. I would imagine west ham will try and attack both fullbacks.
Keyblade
I can't believe some people think we'll get turned over by this team. Their starting XI is worse than ours.
Chindie Posted August 18, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted August 18, 2012 Don't think we're winning this, personally. Asking me yesterday I'd have said the game had draw all over it but today... even with the excitement, the interest, this new era has, I feel like a loss is coming. The team just doesn't inspire me much.
sonic_bouma
well our defence just got worse! Baker at left back? very very brave.... West Hams defence looks just as shit so basically the teams whos forwards are on form will win... but look at our bench! Urggghhhhh
AndyM3000
Our team looks pretty weak, and the bench is even weaker. Really lacks experience.
MCU
I can't believe some people think we'll get turned over by this team. Their starting XI is worse than ours. Hope you're right mate! I'm trying to make myself say the same but I can't otherwise i'll only jinx it. The only thing going for West Ham today is their fans, surely... other than that they've got to be there for the taking. This is a big step up for them again after playing such comfortable football in the Championship. I just hope we don't let them bully us about. Come on VILLA.
