I have just purchased a half season ticket, shame i had to sit in North stand with my free ticket yesterday though, would have much preferred my season ticket seat in the Holte especially as the Holte was so empty!! Look forward to seeing you at the Man U game General, mines a lager if your buying!

I had a similar experience Ginge, I was put in the Upper Trinity and my half season ticket is in the Holte. Whereas my mates mum was in the back of the Holte with her mate, Sue. How the chavs trembled!

Try not to say "support your local team" to William.

;)

There was a story that, when William Windsor visited the England training camp, Joe Cole asked why he supported Villa and not a closer-to-home team like Chelsea. William replied along the lines of "Because I started watching football before 1999".

I'm sure he never said that, but I tell all my mates that he did :D

So yes, I vote for bringing the future King to Villa Park.

i'd rather see tom hanks here tbh in a villa shirt coming onto the pitch 8)

and he could do some free marketing for us in america

(another famous villa fan apparently)

He is a Villa fan but that is only because he likes the name, apparently we sent him a signed shirt and an open invite to a game, he aint been yet I don't think.

William only supports Villa because he chose the name out of a hat at college.

General - Can you thank Russ for us for putting the pics of the Training Ground and Holte Hotel on the official site as he said he would at the Supporters Meeting on Saturday? The work on the training ground looks good so far, albeit I never saw the original.

SM,

I will pass your words on to Russ. I have asked him to do one thing for all sites....and that is to have a "before" picture of the training ground building as it now looks...and then have the new site to compare against as we move forward. We are making huge progress.

Randy and I depart for UK tomorrow so I will be off site for a few days.

Thanks. Russ did say that the pics would be up today and they are.

I hope that you and your family have a very good Christmas and New Year.

Safe trip tomorrow - no doubt TheTrees will spot your plane again. Now that was funny in the summer!

One of the issues raised at the meeting on Saturday was about the viewing area which is at the far side of the site apparently. Russ did agree to discuss it with the club officials. I know the pitches are not going to be layed until next season at the request of MON but any help to allow the fans to watch the training would be great.

I cannot attend myself but would if you can arrange a supporters day to visit the facilities in the summer.

One thing we discussed after the meeting on Saturday was the possibility of a "home" friendly. Any chance of us arranging a game against Bayern Munich being the 25th anniversary. Could even have an "old Boys" game if Munich are up for it.

Evening general.

Great stuff with the news training ground, excellent to see the pictures on the site. Just wondered will the old training ground still be used e.g. training pitches and will fans still be able to watch training at the new complex, hopefully at a closer distance than presently.

We will be required to tear down the old training ground building...part of the requirment to get permission to put up the new one. We will be building new pitches but will keep the old one...and come up with a way to potentially use them for youth. We are absolutely aware of the problems associated with distance from the training pitch for the fans and will be talking to MON to see if something can be worked out. We WILL be having a couple of "open houses" this summer so that the fans can wander around and see the new training ground and facility.

That's brilliant general! :)

One of the things I've thought would be a good idea to be considered would be a sort of open day a week before the season starts, either at the training ground or Villa Park where fans can go along to see the new signings presented, sort of a follow up to the excellent idea in October.

Also would like to see a pre-season tournament at VP with some good foreign teams playing us, I'm sure you're aware other teams do it.

Hand it to you General, you boys are delivering on your promises at one heck of a rate.

When I think, 6 months ago we had one of the most politised fan bases, with marches, protests, albeit many had given up, and people supporting other clubs who I socialise with used to occasionally mock me for it, not understanding why, I just point them at the good work you chaps are doing, how we now have some of the most placid happy fans, despite some occasionally indiffrent football, (due to the state when you boys took over).

Its amazing what a change at the top can bring. Lets face it, you've not let us down once yet, and I am seriously impressed by the energies you guys are putting in to turning things around. From the o/s publishing photos of the Holte, fan based meetings, the whole 9 yards (excuse the americanism), the change is stunning.

May it continue and the best of the season to you and the rest of the team, Sir!

can only echo what many have said General.

I would like to remind you of the Serpetine question though. I went to the EGM for this and frankly the answers to the questions I asked were not good enough. I know it was under the old regime and was a deal you guys had inherited but I would like to know if the deal was sealed. I went past today and no sign whatosver of any work down there.

The problem was that BCSL (a turnover of only £400k a year and profit of only £14k) had to raise £7m for the land plus other monies for the plans of a basketball staduim etc.

Now this is big bucks for what is essenntially a community company and yet I have seen no PR on grants or funding given. If it has gone through good news as the £7m can be used for the benefit of the club and I can say iot was a good deal by the old regime, if it has fallen through, well ....

thanks General and merry xmas to you, your family and the rest of the board and their families.

A training ground open house could be a good little reward/day out for those buying season tickets? Be a good way to make season ticket holders feel special and part of the club and may want to make more people purchase them and be more involved with the club?
