Left home to go to uni at 18 and had a run of 8 different addresses in 10 years...none of which I'd call home. Finally settled down and only had 2 addresses in 9 years...both of which I'd call home. I'm serving my conscription right now and suffice to say I don't like it (although I do have it better than many others) The word "military" doesn't bring to mind pleasant images as a result - and I suspect that this is also the case for most of the males who've been through National Service.
