KjParton
Yea I think it would be 30+ for sure We need Deasy (the creator of this thread) to come back as I think Deasy worked it out, by somehow finding out how many ST's were sold in each stand of the stadium and then adding them up. Not sure how to do it though This question also goes out to the post above yours, but care to explain why you believe the cap would be at the levels you suggest? Especially when an article indicates our cap was about 26,000 just a few seasons ago I would have just thought they would have wanted to have as many people as they could in VP, I don't see the point in restricting the numbers to as you say 26k when they don't know whether they will sell 16k tickets on match day. I think on a match day they could probably sell 11/12k tickets, but not 16. So why wouldn't they up the cap to make sure VP is as full as possible. It also means more money for the club surely? Being season ticket holders, who pay more money. Also I think a lot of other clubs try and sell as many season tickets as they can, if Spurs' cap is 24k ish, with their capacity at 36k thats still 12k tickets left and being a club like Spurs they can definitely sell 12k tickets on a match day, where as I don't think we can sell 16k. I know its probably more like 14/15k we have to sell because of the away fans allocation, but I don't think we can sell that. Which would make me think they would up the allocation for Season ticket holders. To be fair though, we are all speculating and really have no idea, only the club know and I doubt they will be willing to tell us

Especially when an article indicates our cap was about 26,000 just a few seasons ago The cap would be around 80% of stadium capacity which would be around 34k. There is no reason to have a low cap unless you sell out every game and have a high demand for season tickets (waiting list.)
CI
If these figures are correct it's genuinely a brilliant pre- season ST sale

There is no reason to have a low cap unless you sell out every game and have a high demand for season tickets (waiting list.) Whilst ST holders are very essential so are the occasional fans, occasional fans spend much more per match than your average ST Holder. Your ST holder will drink away from the ground and not buy anywhere near as much merchandise / food as an occasional fan for whom the match is more of an event than the fan who goes every week. Also you don't build support by excluding everyone without a ST from the ground either, as more occasional fans can access the ground the more of a following a club will build. Something Man Utd understood and Liverpool never did. Also ST holders if demand for tickets is high will pay far less per match for their ticket. Clubs need to find the correct balance but selling all the home seats to ST holders per season is not very sensible economics for many reasons. blandy Posted July 24, 2012 Moderator Share Posted July 24, 2012 Presumably the club has to allow for cup games in terms of season ticket holder numbers - the away team can claim 15% of capacity (about 6400) , then there's the hospitality and corporate and media and executive seats to allow for, so maybe another couple of thousand, leaving around 34000 or 35000 ish for "normal" home fans to buy. Of those they will want to have some available for people who can't afford a season ticket, maybe 4000 - so I guess any cap would be at around 31 or 32,000 tops to allow for all those things? Looking on the OS for ticket availability in every block for the Everton game gives these numbers Witton Lane Stand block by block, available/not available 127/503 18/211 87/494 65/503 107/493 352/502 0/216 149/522 68/522 149/522 285/522 437/727 =1844/4693 = 2849 sold Away fans and segregation 523, 824, 484 (lower) = 1831 219, 414, 738, 225 (upper)= 1596 Holte 0/117 - not for sale due to no view 531/1071 530/1232 309/1232 201/1232 380/1232 238/1025 0/333 118/476 641/891 447/891 178/986 358/1017 503/897 159/399 4596/13031 = 8435 not available for sale Trinity 0/265 193/365 115/354 25/342 3/236 7/236 29/342 73/329 0/184 0/208 0/781 30/614 100/570 10/365 84/617 234/645 235/540 451/723 100/693 109/664 148/717 28/708 224/694 317/447 =2515/11639 = 9124 not available North stand 215/570 571/1002 220/664 369/692 392/796 55/144 132/384 79/339 163/416 105/416 192/415 154/349 =2647/5771 = 3124 sold Club area in Trinity - no numbers shown [/code] Which works out as 23414 seats taken for the game as of tonight. Most of those will be season tickets and it excludes the corporate season tickets and board seats in the posh bit of the Trinity as well as the various boxes in the North stand, which they presumably count in season ticket numbers. Daniel
Went in today to pick my Peterborough ticket up. There was about 10-15 people all filling forms out for season tickets. Bet you wouldn't see sights like that with "you know who" still in charge.

ciggiesnbeer
This thread is making me happy. Combine that with the attractive way lambert has us playing (in pre season anyway) and we are going to be rocking atmosphere wise next season.
