sexbelowsound
For me yes, Holman has had a better season than KEA. There is a very gifted technical footballer in KEA, I think he is just struggling with the pace of the Premier League. Holman doesn't come close to KEA in that aspect. The only thing I see Holman being better at is work rate.

StefanAVFC
i don't get the impression that he's insisting on first team football, just on being given the chance to earn it on the pitch... he saw a lot of playing time pre-christmas, and virtually none after it.... if he's not going to see any next season, then at 29 and as australia's player of the year in the build up to a world cup, he will choose to go.... But we were cack pre-christmas and improved after Christmas. Surely that shows that decision was vindicated.

CI
Partially yes. Once we dropped the likes of Holman KEA Herd Ireland Lichaj we started to improve. Obviously we changed tactics too which had a big positive impact.
Kingfisher
Holman's assist at Anfield was good, when he dispossessed the player. I'll take more of that next season please!
Ponky
Holman could be playing in the Pakistani third division and still get called up. He has been the golden boy of two successive national coaches and I can't see that changing in a hurry. He is the most distinguished headless chook in recent Socceroos history. Who else are they going to call up in his place anyway? The Australia team of today looks dreadful on paper. Holman will be called up for the world cup regardless of anything, there's no upcoming Kewell waiting in the wings. There's a young lad at Celtic called Tom Rogic who will assume Holman's place sooner rather than later.
R.I.C.O.
There's no reason why he should be in the first team, he hasnt done anywhere near enough to get a place. Has he handed in a transfer request yet? I reckon he'll be swiftly out of the door within the next couple of weeks.
CI
If he's demanding a first team place he's a dreamer. Probably been tapped up by a promoted side or someone like Norwich. If we can get say £2.5m for him it will be good business
AndyBM
holmans work rate certainly cant be questioned, however now that were able to strengthen in attacking areas, is holman now surplus to requirements?
CI
I suppose he could be on hefty wages too judging by McLeish's other "deals" Another reason to get shot I suppose
AndyBM
have we ever sold a player that weve signed on a free? or does the player have no value?
Kingfisher
I'd like him to stay, but if he would rather move for regular football that's fair enough. Undoubtedly a loss to us though as he is good player to have on the bench.
rodigan
at the end of the day, if he's way down the pecking order wiht our current squad, thats only going to get worse during the off-season with new players coming in. at the moment, he's either playing for the weimann spot, where he's probably ranked third or fourth out of weimann, zoggy, bowery, albrighton and himself... or he's competing for the third midfield spot, where he's competing with sylla, zoggy, bannan, KEA, dawkins, ireland.... just can't see him getting playing time, even without any reinforcements coming in, and therefore, i suspect, like lichaj, he will choose to move on... Kiwivillan
Headless chicken comes to mind with Holman. As decidedly average a player that I've seen in a Villa shirt. KEA never bedded in and then was off to ACN. Unfair to compare Holman with him IMO

Pembers
Watching the Japan v Aus game now, Holmans playing pretty good. Played a couple of cracking through balls that they should have scored from.
El-Reacho
I suppose he could be on hefty wages too judging by McLeish's other "deals" Another reason to get shot I suppose Probably paying above what he's worth because we got him on a free. And obviously because McLeish did the deal.
Ponky
Typical Holman game vs Japan. Pendulum swinging wildly between utter garbage and utter genius. One particular 40 yard through ball was spectacular.
