Don't shoot the messenger, didn't think this would fit the McLeish or Lerner thread so starting a new topic.

National newspapers The Sun and the Daily Express are running articles that we are after Paul Lambert to replace McLeish, even if we stay up.

Exclusive: ASTON VILLA could turn to Paul Lambert if they sack Alex McLeish.

Villa Park bosses will review McLeish’s position regardless of whether the team remains in the Premier League.

A run of one win in 13 games has left the Midlanders just three points clear of third-bottom Bolton.

Tuesday’s defeat to the Trotters means Villa will end the season with their lowest tally of home league victories since they were formed 138 years ago.

Owner Randy Lerner and chief executive Paul Faulkner have publicly backed the boss

But Big Eck, an unpopular appointment after managing rivals Birmingham, looks doomed and the Villa hierarchy have been impressed by Lambert.

The Scotsman, 42, has taken Norwich to successive promotions and guided them to a safe position in the Premier League.

The Canaries, who host Villa on the last day of the season, would fight all the way to keep Lambo.

But if they were forced to look for a new boss, Cardiff chief Malky Mackay — a ex-Norwich hero — would be a contender along with Birmingham’s Chris Hughton.

The Sun: Lambo Leap

Express: Lambo high on Villa List

We bring in Lambo, Blues lose Houghton to Norwich. Perfect scenario .

Article was spot on, must have hacked a few phones.

Welcome Lambert.

Just had a quick skim through the Norwich forum called Pinkun, jesus christ they are bitter aint they. For what Lambert has done for them in the past couple of years the abuse he is getting is ridiculous.

Most of them seem so pissed off because they see us as a sideways move.

Amazing how Norwich finish above us for the one season and now they are the bigger club.

Reminds me of when Bent signed and Sunderland were 6th and they made us out to be the lesser team then too.

If Norwich are a BIG club, I am sure the top quality managers around the globe will be chomping at the bit to get the job and splashing out using their 5.5 million warchest made available by that old man that rants and rants and rants.

You know him...

Deliah.

Cook that up, bitch.

Hitzfeld, the current Switzerland national team boss, also hailed Lambert's ability to create a positive dressing room atmosphere.

"What was most critical is that Paul was a very good team player," added the 63-year-old.

"That is one of the most important qualities as a coach and manager of a team.

"Paul was one of the players responsible for keeping a good mood in the dressing room before a game.

"And after a defeat, he was one of those who knew how to address a situation or any problem."

Which is exactly what we need. Especially for the younger lads who are bereft of confidence after the wet rag era of McLeish.

Norwich Pinkun thread

First Wizard- "Hope he implodes........Villa too. "

Wiz, I guess..

After reading their comments I hope Norwich **** off back to the Championship where they belong. They think they are our rivals? Our rivals are the likes of Liverpool like it's always been.
