AshVilla
I think he'd score less goals for us under McLeish than he did when he was playing in germany

sne
Not sure on Pogrebnyak. Would he be able to do it on a freezing cold night in February in Newcastle? (any bites) Yes coming from sunny Russia the stern climate in England must be a real challenge...

bannedfromHandV
Is this an attempt to break the world record for saying the very things you say you shouldn't be saying in the same article?
VillaChris
I think the barometer for us signing a new striker in the summer should be "would they be more use than Heskey." Even though he was crap against us, I think it's a resounding yes for this bloke.
Czechlad
He is a player we can hoof the ball up to so McLeish must love that.
John
A tall striker but not Zigic so that is a big plus. :winkold: Not so Wylde about the following though: “Is he worth a gamble? I’ve not got any money to gamble with.

barry'sboots
Not sure on Pogrebnyak. Would he be able to do it on a freezing cold night in February in Newcastle? (any bites) Would that be a Tuesday or a Wednesday night? Doubt he could perform on the warm nights in late August/April or May?? I don't think we need another point striker unless Benty is off as we have Bent, Gabby, Weiman and the Fonz (assuming Heskey goes). I would much prefer us to invest in some creativity so we have options on the three behind, i.e. Zog, SI and Albie, so we can rotate/use subs etc. in these important positions. This depends, of course, on how far Carruthers etc. is away from first team footie and I haven't seen anything of him and his peers to make an assessment. PompeyVillan
He smacks of a player with a point to prove until he's got a good contract. Not sure he'd be worth the risk to be honest.

HolteExile
A cheap and nasty Ikea wardrobe would be more use than Heskey in the squad. It would stay upright, for one thing.
