villaajax
"FIFA are investigating the claim".... Also known as doing nothing at all Maybe FIFA will put the Argentinian FA in charge of the inquest, like when they put their corrupt officials in charge of the corruption inquest. villaajax
I've just emailed FIFA asking whether they are actually going to investigate this. I know it's about as likely as me getting a reply from a real person at FIFA but we'll see.

villaajax
Didn't Scotland beat Holland in the World Cup that year? Yes, 3-2 including that famous Archie Gemmill goal but our second goal was enough to see us go through on goal difference I believe.
theunderstudy
I think Scotland needed to win by 3 to progress, and were 3-1 up, then Johnny Rep scored. That was Scotland's second best ever World Cup performance... after 1974 where Scotland went out unbeaten on GD in a group with Brazil, Yugoslavia and Zaire. You do learn stuff from books!
