Porto to report City taunts Porto have vowed to lodge a complaint with UEFA after Manchester City supporters chanted "You're not incredible" at Hulk at Eastlands on Wednesday night. City fans also labelled Hulk a "cheat" during City's 4-0 Europa League victory over Porto, which saw them through 6-1 on aggregate, and Porto communications director Rui Cerqueira feels the club should be punished. He said: "We will take this to UEFA. It is improper behaviour. This behaviour may be normal in England but Porto want to contribute to eradicating it from sport." UEFA said on Thursday morning that a complaint had yet to be lodged over the chants. The move comes following the announcement that UEFA will charge Porto over alleged racial chanting against Mario Balotelli and Yaya Toure during the first leg of the tie at the Estadio do Dragao. Cerqueira had said Porto were "surprised" when City made the complaint and claimed the supposed monkey chants were actually fans of both teams chanting "Hulk, Hulk, Hulk" and "Kun, Kun, Kun" in support of their players. So they are probably only doing it for that reason. Pure spite. That's the problem with the new guidelines being brought in on the back of the whole racism thing though. The wording doesn't only say 'racism', it also says 'abusive language' and that ambiguity covers everything - pretty much everything a fan would ever say to an opposing player no matter how mundane or banal. That all sounds so plausible until you realise that Kun, is Aguero an opposition Man City player, who wasn't even playing in the first leg when this alleged non monkey chanting occurred, which if you've actually heard it was unmistakably monkey chanting and nothing but monkey chanting. Taking the piss, is something football fans do and as long as its good natured and not discriminatory, then there's nothing wrong with it. If it's actually funny too (as this clearly was imo) then its an added bonus. Porto have grasped at a very tiny straw and missed by a mile.
