mikeyp102
I think the Chelsea squad needs a very big do over (same as utd). Thought they were very poor against us, despite cantering to the win. The defence is STILL reliant on terry, despite a good start Zouma hasn't impressed and Cahill looks dead and buried. Fabregas doesn't want it anymore and Hazard wants out. Don't think Conte will be able to do all that in one season. Plus the premier league is very different to Italy. Players from Italy normally struggle due to the pace, as a manager will he be able to adapt?

BOF Posted April 5, 2016 Moderator Share Posted April 5, 2016 Time will tell of course. But I'm always a little less confident in someone's success when I hear that they're known as a disciplinarian. Yes it can work, but in the grand scheme of good managers, it's one of the more divisive traits. It could go either way, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he tries to crack some skulls and loses the dressing room. He's also joining the Premier League at a relatively tricky time. The other big shots will be coming off poor seasons and will be doing their utmost financially to make sure there's no repeat. All at a time when Pep will get his hands on a blank cheque and Mourinho will probably land the United job. It's a mouth-watering prospect, next season's Premier League landscape. I'm just not sure I fancy Conte to come out the other end smelling of roses.
Zatman
it all depends who they sign though, at moment probably doesnt have the players to play 3-5-2 like at Juventus but Conte has usually tried play the best positions for his players. Could see them going for a player like Verratti as for Cuadrado he be a much better improvement on Hazard at the moment
VillaChris
I keep forgetting they're not in CL but then again Man. United signed Di Maria when they weren't in it. Tbf I've probably got a downer on Conte because the perfect manager out there for Chelsea in terms of style and personality is Diego Simeone. Get him eventually and they're well set for domination again like in Mourinho's first spell. Anything else is a risk.
Dr_Pangloss
Terry gave an 'emotional' speech to the fans today, implying that he's off, well I'd like to pay tribute and share my favourite Terry moments:

Zatman
yeah bit of an asshole though gained a lot more respect for him when Petrov was injured. good leader and one of best club captains in English football history I believe he is the last of the original Mourinho team left and think Chelsea defensively will become more brittle without that mentality at the back
This Could Be Rotterdam
My lasting memory of terry will be the whole of vp on their feet singing let him die and we know what you are as he was rolling around in pain.

KHV
John Terry is one of the best centre backs England has produced for years. Shame his England career ended when it did as it was certainly ended too soon.
