tonyh29 Posted February 6, 2012 Share Posted February 6, 2012 James Stewert in Harvey .... no another actor could have carried off that role most famous role turned down could well be Jack Nicholson who turned down the part of Michael Corleone in the Godfather talking of John Travolta ..Michael Marsden was due to play the part of Vincent in Pulp fiction Mel Gibson turned down Gladiator ... I think the film got lucky by having Crowe over Gibson Di Caprio turned down the part of Dirk Diggler .. would have been interesting to see though I think part of the attraction of Wahlberg in that role was nobody was expecting him to be that good Madonna was due to play the Sharon stone role in Casino ..think she would have single handily ruined that film Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

John Travolta was the original 1st choice to play Forrest Gump but turned it down, Bill Murray was another choice but they eventually went with Tom Hanks. I cant imagine that anyone else could have pulled off that role as good as Hanks did. And the vise versa bit... Cant stand Christian Bale as Batman, surely they could find someone better than him to play Batman!? Hugh Jackman would have been a good choice. Forrest Gump, hmmmm. So what we are looking for is a American guy who buys a business he knows **** all about, something like shrimp fishing or football or something similar & has no real interest in how it performs or what he bought it for except Bubba convinced him he was onto a winner? (that makes me sound like a knob pointing out your mistake, I don't mean to be!) That would make sense as isn't Travolta's character supposed to be the brother of Madsen's character in Reservoir Dogs, although it's never actually stated?
