darrenm Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Could I have some suggestions for some good astro boots please? I currently have some cheap Nike 5 things and they're awful. I prefer something a bit more wedge shaped as I'm used to playing in Asics trainers. I try and control the ball with the Nikes and miss it entirely. The Adidas Mundial Team look good, but the Nike Bomba Finale seem to get good reviews. Any opinions?
tomsky_11 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 I was gonna suggest Nike 5 or similar as I can't stand bulky boots. Never mind.
mottaloo Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Have always been a puma man meself.....am using the Puma King TT Astro..quite "wedgy"......but have also been given a pair of adidas Kaiser Team....both pairs are quality....and about £50. Hope this helps.
Stevo985 Posted January 14, 2012 VT Supporter Posted January 14, 2012 I use Nike Tiempos. No nonsense boots. I've had mine for about 2 years and they are awesome. Pretty cheap too
AndyM3000 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I still prefer proper boots even on astro. Blades or moulds will do, any Addidas boot is good but Preds are the best.
Stevo985 Posted January 15, 2012 VT Supporter Posted January 15, 2012 Depends on the astro. On the new astros boots are fine, but on the old style, the much shorter "grass", unless you've got very shallow moulds you'll be slipping all over the place. Also, a lot of these leisure leagues, power leagues, goals 5 aside leagues don't allow you to wear proper boots.
blandy Posted January 15, 2012 Moderator Posted January 15, 2012 Nike Tiempos, for sure. Good quality, leather (rather than ruddy plastic) and comfortable and hard wearing.
