Never really thought of things like that, but it makes a lot of sense.

Anyway... Over the time I've always kept a list of things that can be considered as happy foods, incorporating them into my diet as much as possible. If anyone's interested:

Cottage Cheese

Bananas

Citrus Fruits

Walnuts

Turkey

Sunflower Seeds

Sesame Seeds

Lentils

Avocado

Oats

Wholegrain foods

Milk

Mackerel

Cod

Halibut

Tuna

Sweetcorn

Egg whites

Other things i've benefitted from to some extent:

St Johns Wort

Omega 3 tablets

I'll concede that I visit your list more than my own, regrettably.

Having just met the girl of my dreams, i'm absofuckinglutely determined never to come home with a miserable look on my face though, so gotta change the diet.

India? One place I'd NEVER go. Couldn't stand the heat, the food, or the sight of the poverty.

Do you not like curry, mjmooney?

No, I do not. It's one for the "Things I don't get" thread.

What is the point of a food that drowns the taste of the meat in spices, causes a burning mouth, runny nose and profuse sweating, and leaves a lingering taste and smell for days? Can't see the appeal at all.

I'll go out for a curry with the missus once or twice a year (she loves them), just to be sociable, but that's about my limit. Wouldn't care if I never ate one again.

Cottage Cheese - Never

Bananas - Almost every day

Citrus Fruits - Every day

Walnuts - Never

Turkey - Never (I do eat chicken regularly though)

Sunflower Seeds - Never

Sesame Seeds - Regularly (in curries)

Lentils - Rarely

Avocado - Never

Oats - Almost every day in granola breakfast bar

Wholegrain foods - Rarely

Milk - Every day

Mackerel - I eat a lot of fish, this is one I do eat

Cod - Very rarely. Expensive and over-rated.

Halibut - Never

Tuna - Regularly

Sweetcorn - Regularly (with tuna)

Egg whites - Average maybe one egg a day.

So I score quite highly on that list :)

Haha I love the fact that you work (and I presume live) near one of the best areas for curry, where it is hard to get any other decent take away food. But you hate the food.

Nothing better than a curry crap to clear the system out!

Now do my list Mike! :)
Not all that different, actually:

Pizza - occasionally

Kebabs - almost never

Fish & Chips - fairly frequently (had some for lunch today)

Burgers - rarely (usually home made)

Chinese food - very rarely

Indian food - almost never (see my other post)

I'm pretty much a trad English OR French guy. Meat, fish, potatoes, some veg, bread, eggs, dairy (milk, cheese, cream), chocolate and sugary things, kind of guy.

No, my point is that not all curries do that. If you don't like that (and plenty don't), then don't order the ones that do. Or cook the ones that don't. I didn't mean learn to like it :)
