and they would be cheaper

I would not bank on that Mattyp-avfc. :winkold: I would guess that even if we cut out the middle man and had those kits made in those sweat shops directly the price would be similar but the mark up would just be higher. The deal with Nike suggested we would have more outlets available that would sell our kit a deal with Marcon would suggest we would have less than signing with one of the big kit makers so it suggests to me that we are moving further down market off the pitch as well as on it.

He went on to say that there was a teamwear deal on the table from Nike. This is a deal similar to the like of Doncaster and Peterborough where we would be supplied with a basic kit template in our colours. Stoke and WBA have a similar deal with Adidas

one of main reasons wouldnt go with a big name brand and would prefer a personalised touch from a smaller brand

Macron kits look like Sunday League kits.

But we're a dull, midtable team these days so what else do we expect?

I'd stay with Nike ideally. We get treated badly but the kits are, on the whole, lovely.

You would at least expect some good brand considering we've been in the Premier League since it's birth. :?

i have bought kits for years, even hummel :wow: , but if we were to switch to macron i wouldn't be buying one. i don't care what they wear on the pitch, but i'm not going to put one on and i would think quite a few others might feel the same.

it's a shame that the villa brand has plummeted all the way back to where it was with ellis.

It won't happen next season if we're with Macron to be fair.

If we're going to go for basic templates, can we go with Adidas instead please? They're so much nicer. Although, would the claret body and blue sleeves count as a basic template? All the basic Adidas ones I see are just one colour with a white line across the chest, like some of the teams in the F.A Cup were sporting this weekend.

Please not Macron though, that West Ham kit was dreadful and after looking at the link that was provided on this thread, the kits I saw for the other teams were rubbish too. I thought Italians were supposed to be stylish?

They are, north of Rome

Napoli have nice shirts. Honestly, as long as it brings in the biggest amount of revenue, I'd happily take Macron. I've hated most our Nike kits outside the original white away and the blue/black shirt.

Hmm that's tough. Probably right, then middle, then left

Really?

I think I would go right, left then middle. Is it because of the hair? The one on the left looks reet horny.

Yeah the hair is just a bit too Brian May for me

Just to stay on topic, I can't believe how wound up people are getting by who makes our shirt

Aslong as it's claret and blue and has a roaring lion on the chest, I'm happy.

Stinks of further regression to me.

We've moved from Nike (with their faults) but had some very nice shirts with a charity in Acorns sponsor to what?

Next season a gambling casino sponsored Macron shirt? Great..

Reflects the crap we have to watch and endure under this regression i suspect in many ways...

By 'bullied' the Nike Exec probably means begged like a little girl. I could definitely see it as RL had just bought the club and Nike might have thrown us a bone because of the off chance that we were going to be the next Chelsea.

I believe the kit manufacturer says a lot about the stature of a club and also business acumen. If we could not get one of the big boys (Nike, Adidas, Puma) to do a deal with us I would have liked us to have tried for up-and-coming/hip companies like Li Ning or UnderArmour. Macron is neither here nor there. I believe UnderArmour signed a massive deal with Spurs. Shows how relevant our club is :(

This!

The Napoli shirt isn´t that bad, its just the big red sponsor logo that ruins the shirt IMO.

I´m sure this will be good. Rather a big fish in a small pond and all of that...

I´m probably the oppisite of a lot of you on here, I would definetly buy a Macron shirt just because not every other club wears them. But thats probably just me.

Nah, me too. It's just people getting their knickers in a twist over nothing again

Picture the scene; - Old Trafford, Man United V Aston Villa. It's stoppage time 0-0. Villa have a corner, it finds the head of Gabby. Bang 1-0 Villa. Man U restart play, full-time whistle. 3000 Villa fans going wild, apart from one fan. He's sitting there, looking miserable, forcing a half smile.

The bloke next to him asks "Hey, what's up with you?". He replies, "I want to celebrate, I really do. It's just...*sigh*...I wish we didn't have Macron on our shirts"

Is it possible you dont have to mention McLeish in every thread? Which one of the inbetweeners are you? I'm guessing Jay.

Back on topic, could you explain why the kits are cheap and nasty when football kits are pretty much made out of the same material by the same people in the same factories.

Which Macron kit have you ever put on or held?

I find it hard to believe, laughable and also quite sad that the ever so fashion conscious football fan has a snobbery when it comes to football kits, yet many are happy to strut to games wearing stone island, lacoste, henri lloyd etc etc etc

My main issue is the stupid 'man with ball' logos on the shoulders of the English teams shirts...they look like a uniform for a leisure centre in 1992....

It doesn't make a huge difference to anything, btut I like that my villa tops are nice to look at, I don't want to look (more of) a knob on matchdays...

The foriegn shirts DO look good, but, as I've said, we're not foreign. We also don't wear stripes (not because we're fat or something) and the big thing, ALL the UK kits look pretty crap.

Does it matter who makes the **** shirt?

As long as it has the club badge on it and is claret and blue, I couldn't give a **** who makes it.

The people moaning about the "designer label" are most likely the ones that think dressing head to toe in **insert sportswear manufacturer** here is a display of wealth and status.

If we get a decent deal from whoever, they get the shirts delievered on time, it really, really doesn't matter whos logo is sewn into the corner.
