Has anyone ever done anything like this? I like the idea of getting married abroad with a few close relatives as it negates the need to spend a fucktonne of money on other people who you barely know. This is pretty much my thinking too. I'm loathe to spend £10k - £20k on a single day when there's a whole world out there that could be explored for similar money. I really do like to idea of having a small, intimate wedding and then throwing a really good reception at a later date. I will say mate, even doing it this way, you still dont get much (if any) change out of £10k. Depending on where you go & for how long obviously.
