TheSufferingVilla
A shout for Giovanni Trapattoni: As a player: Milan Italian League (2): 1961–62, 1967–68 Italian Cup (1): 1966–67 European Cup (2): 1963, 1969 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (1): 1967–68 Intercontinental Cup (1): 1969 As a manager: Juventus Italian League (6): 1976–77, 1977–78, 1980–81, 1981–82, 1983–84, 1985–86 Italian Cup (2): 1978–79, 1982–83 European Cup (1): 1984–85 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (1): 1984 UEFA Cup (2): 1977, 1993 European Super Cup (1): 1984 Intercontinental Cup (1): 1985 Internazionale Italian League (1): 1988–89 UEFA Cup (1): 1991 Bayern Munich German League (1): 1996–97 German Cup (1): 1997–98 German League Cup (1): 1996–97 Benfica Portuguese League (1): 2004–05 Red Bull Salzburg Austrian League (1): 2006–07 Ireland European Champions (1): 2012 Astonishing to think he won league titles in 4 different countries, 10 in total. Sadly his international career in terms of World Cup success never materialized, might have been different if the fix wasn't in for South Korea in 2002. Qwpzxjor1
It's not very often a good player makes a good manager. Paulo DiCanio said a while ago that he gets frustrated at training as a manager because it's easy to naturally assume that something which came naturally to you is also easy for the players you're coaching. Guardiola has a good managerial record but I'm not sure you can judge him on that Barcelona team. Ok, he's got them playing to their strengths and with passion but the players he's got at his disposal. Ole Gunnar Solsjaer (sp?) has got off to a good start. Excellent playing record and his first management job he's won the league in only his second year with a mid table club. My vote goes with Capello though. Qwpzxjor1
Ireland European Champions (1): 2012 Haha. If he manages that then he'll truly deserve to win this. I must admit I hadn't realised quite how successful he has been.
