Peever
The first thought in my mind is do you have an appropriate converter?

BennettVilla
Ok thanks very much Is there anyway to resolve this?
Xann
Something like this maybe. I don't know what connections a PS3 has. There may be better options if it's got other digital outputs.
Straggler
If you used to have your PS3 connected to an HD TV it won't work on standard def. You need to reset it to non HD then it will work fine. Sony had already though of this problem and there is an easy solution: Make sure the system is off. Hold down the Power Button for 5-6 seconds - until you hear the second beep. That's it, your video settings are reset and you should be able to choose your input and configure it from there. BennettVilla
Hmmm Doesnt need a reset, tried it but had it on av in the UK Reading some other forums and people having the same problem. Does anyone think a component cable will fix the problem?

IainG
That's definitely a PAL/NTSC issue, they have different refresh rates so hook it up to the wrong type of TV and you get that result. It looks like quite an old TV? Modern TVs can handle both modes I think. What cable are you using at the moment? Have you tried it on an HD TV through HDMI? BennettVilla
Hi Iain Thanks for the feedback. Yeah its an old TV (renting out here in the states). It doesnt have HD but tried connecting through component and AV. Looking at some of the PAL/ NTSC converter price i may just buy a cheap small TV. What you reckon? Peever
whats that? lol Power converter for your system is what I was refering too. UK things are plugged into higher voltage outlets than here in NA. Though it seems the others have answered your question
