Well I have been talked into actually going to a pub outside of erdington for a drink...I have been told to try and be sociable...I'm struggling

This may sound weird but I think tonight actually done me some good, been drinking since 1 o'clock but I've been drinking like a normal person rather than like an idiot, went to the pub and my mate has got designs on some young bird (22 years old) so he dragged me along with him, now sitting with kids that young didn't do nothing for me at all and I was struggling big time.

Then all of a sudden I bump into an of mate that I haven't seen for about 4 years, got chatting to him and his mates and ended up having a good **** night, I sacked my other mate off and left him to be a sex pest.

Anyway I'm Safely tucked up in bed now ready for sleep safe in the knowledge that I won't have a bad head in the morning and that I haven't spunked a load of money.

Plus my mate that I haven't seen for a while was speaking with a couple of (seemingly) normal birds so hopefully I will bump into them again as well.

Maybe this socialising thing has some benefits after all

Weekend in Newcastle.  Drinking session Saturday then out and to the game Sunday.  5 hours on a train either side.

What's Newcastle like for a night out?

What sort of night out are you after? Do you want cheep drink? Nice drink? Good music? Chart and Dance stuff? Classy girls? Slags? Strippers?

Nice drink, followed by cheap drink, followed by good music.  I'm not allowed girls.

Stick around the bars by the train station then. I'd recomend Starting up by the football statium. Get yourself in the Trent House, then move on to Northumberland Arms, which is great for Real Ale, then head through China Town to Tilleys, then The Forth, then Gotham Town for a few cheap ones. The local Wetherspoons (The Union Rooms) is near by too. Head of Steam is open till about 2 I think (it was the last time I was there anyway) and they usually have great music. If you head towards the Queyside, there's a Brew Dog pub too, which is worth a visit. The Telegraph is a great little boozer too, which is about a 10 min walk from the station.

How was your weekend oop norf then mate (the match aside)? Did you manage to get in any of my recommended boozers?

Yeah was a great weekend apart from the obvious.   I learnt very early on to avoid 'The Gate'.  We visited Northumberland Arms and Brew Dog so I had my fix of ales.  We were going to Head of Steam but the bar made in the Northumberland put some of my mates off by saying it was "heavy metal".  We ended up in the Academy which played quite a lot of heavy metal incidentally.  Suited me, was a top night.

I don't think I've ever heard Heavy Metal in the Head of Steam, but oh well, at least you had a good night. It's hard not to though to be honest. Newcastle is a great place for a piss up.

The China town was pretty impressive and I found a shop that sold my Korean noodles so result there.

I did get quite a lot of goading post match though.  Still seems like they haven't forgiven us for relegating them and royally taking the piss.

Yeah, one of the reasons I dislike their football club so much. A wonderful city, spoiled by it's football club. I've got many good friends who support Newcastle. I can have a decent conversation about football with about half a dozen of them. The rest I just don't bother with. They still don't understand that they would have got the same from any other set of fans in the country.

I feel the same about Scouserpool.

Scouserpool are the worst, I think everyone agrees there.

It was a Damian Duff own goal that did it thought, wasn't it? Only have themselves to blame.

I think my mate is trying to reintegrate my into human society, he has got me out for a drink with his "other" mates it will do me good apparently

I don't know them, they don't interest me, I don't want to know them, the pub is rammed, I have to queue for my beer and the only chance of solitude I get is when I have a fag and then strangers try and talk to me **** OFF AND LEAVE ME ALONE

ah well I had better get back inside and try and hold my **** tongue
