ryanvilla_1994 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 MON would do a good job at Leicester IMO.
Zatman Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 sad for Leicester. Sven is the most underrated manager in England after Capello. Done great in most jobs they had but some very deluded parts of English media think they are shit
islingtonclaret Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 MON to Leicester - please, please let this happen. Then his first actions will be to buy Heskey, Petrov and Ireland off us. BARGAIN! I would actually give him a positive reception - though I can easily see why he will get a hostile reaction too.
Eames Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Return for MON I betMedia and VT wankfest incoming. Haha, no doubt he will spend twice as much as the rest of the division, get promoted and be called a messiah too Does he have previous form/a reputation for doing this? when he got Leicester promoted in 1996 did they spend twice as much as everyone else? before he then led them to 4 top 10 Prem finishes on the spin and two league cup wins. I'm genuinely unsure as although I don't remember Leicester spending shit loads around that time I could just have missed it. You are Martin O'Neil and I claim my £5. P.S. Martin, you are a rocket polishing clearing in the woods.
Stevo985 Posted October 25, 2011 VT Supporter Posted October 25, 2011 I'd take Sven hear in a heartbeat
maqroll Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 O'Neill the favorite for the job....would love it if we drew them at home in the Cup....
Zatman Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 O'Neill the favorite for the job....would love it if we drew them at home in the Cup.... i wouldnt as im sure some people would give the word removed a bigger reception than our players

However, it would indeed be one spicy game and the atmosphere would be great. Winning (with Bannan scoring the winner) would be **** sweet as well.

briny_ear Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Sorry to disappoint you, guys... Martin O'Neill rules out return to Leicester City as manager • O'Neill had considered making a romantic return • Leicester extend net in search for new manager * Stuart James * guardian.co.uk, Wednesday 26 October 2011 23.03 BST Martin O'Neill has ruled out a return to Leicester City, after deciding that it would be a mistake to go back to a club where he enjoyed five years of unprecedented success. The Northern Irishman had refused to dismiss the idea initially and was giving serious consideration to finding out more about the club's potential under their Thai owners but, after weighing up the pros and cons, O'Neill has come to the conclusion that returning would be a risk not worth taking. O'Neill's decision will come as a disappointment to Leicester supporters, although many will have felt that it was always going to be difficult to tempt back a manager who has been holding out for a Premier League job since he left Aston Villa on the eve of last season. O'Neill, who had been installed as the favourite for the Leicester position as soon as Sven-Goran Eriksson was sacked on Monday, recently said he was not interested in taking charge of Northern Ireland because he was hoping to return to club management. While O'Neill waits for the right opportunity, Leicester will continue finalising a shortlist for what is viewed as one of the most attractive positions in the Championship. "I have to open my mind now. It is not just what the news or fans want," Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn, the Leicester vice-chairman, said. "I have to listen to everyone and make a decision very carefully. The next manager should be taking us to the Premier League and I think he has to know this league because it's very tough, very tight." Those words would appear to rule out Mark Hughes and Paul Ince, who have both been linked with the position but have not worked in the second tier. Roy Keane, who won promotion from the Championship with Sunderland, is interested in the job and it is understood that Brian McDermott, the Reading manager, is highly regarded. Simon Grayson, the Leeds United manager and a former Leicester player, and Lee Clark, who has impressed at Huddersfield Town, have both dismissed speculation that they are in the running. LOL at those who want Sven to come to Villa by the way. I guess at least he would finish the work started by Houllier.
Genie Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 LOL at those who want Sven to come to Villa by the way. I guess at least he would finish the work started by Houllier. If you mean signing players of a quality a level above what you'd expect then yes please.

dudevillaisnice Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 MON refusing the leicester job.. Beggars can't be...
R.I.C.O. Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 MON refusing the leicester job.. Beggars can't be... I hardly think he's a beggar, he managed to screw £1m off us in compensation for his flouncing act so he cant exactly be struggling. I hope he never manages again.
Hanky Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Sven and Houllier are both pretty similar. Both have won things in the past but ultimately they have become past it as managers now. I actually rate Houllier a lot higher than Sven though.

There was me stupidly thinking an independent tribunal awarded him that compensation. Obviously we should believe the general, he's still posting because he's proven to be so trustworthy with his posts.
