Stone Roses to reform

He's not a great singer in the traditional sense and he has turned in some dire live performances over the years, but if you catch him on a good night he can get very very close to the album vocals. I've seen him live 5 times , met him once and only there was only one occasion where he wasn't up to scratch and that was the last V Festival I went to . To call him talentless is just an SGC level of absurdity. I've bought every single one of his solo albums and the man is a **** genius, regardless of whether his vocals are any good.

Blimey, I was at that gig! It was the year I won T In The Park tickets through my work. He had a right barney with the sound man, cus he couldn't hear himself in the monitor. He also stormed off stage a couple of times and told the crowd to **** off, when they started booing, because he kept storming off stage. If memory serves he also did a Sex Pistols cover, instead of his usual cover of Billie Jean, as MJ was involved in one of his child molestation cases at the time. It was actually a pretty good gig, although New Order were by far the best Mancs on the bill that weekend. They were superb I seem to recall.

It's an interesting prospect, but they're at least being honest and saying they've got some bills to pay.

Can we at least save Villatalk from the embarrassment that RAWK has put itself upon itself. A poster there has said they're shit and that they can't be good because they've not heard of them. Let's be frank in that the debut is clearly up there in the best British albums. Some people might think that Ian Brown can't sing (which he can't, but I still think he's got that stage presence) but saying they're shit because you've not heard of them really does make you a prize bellend.

I have heard of them, I have heard them. I think, nay know they are shit. Clearly this is not the majority view on VT, but each to their own. There but for the grace of God go I. If its a well renowned band fronted by a shite singer I'm after, I'll look no further than Black Sabbath for my kicks. :thumb:

It wasn't a dig at you Eames, it was a dig at the loser on a Liverpool board. (before you ask, I was, for the billionth time, trying to google the lyrics to Mersey Paradise to find out what the feck they mean). Amen to Black Sabbath mate.

in fairness im sure he would use words like worst singer ever while calling Olly Murs or Jedward a once in a lifetime singer or voice of a generation

Never liked them at the time, and could never quite see what all the fuss was about.

Although I did quite enjoy John Squire's band in the mid 90's - Seahorses was it?

Whenever I hear Stone Roses these days it strikes me that they sound very dated too.

It's going to be fantastic. Just about all of Ian Brown's solo stuff has been ace, and as long as Squire remembers that being in a band isn't all about drowning everybody else out with a ten minute guitar solo with the amps all jacked up to 100 they'll be great.

Brilliant news. I hope they don't taint their memory but I think they were too good to do that.

Didn’t they do that during the so called ‘second coming’?

I like Second Coming, alot, so sue me 8)
