It's Scotland. You know, where Catholics hate Protestants, Protestants hate Catholics, Glasgow hate Edinburgh, Edinburgh hate Glasgow, the Lowlanders hate the Highlanders, the Highlanders hate the Lowlanders and everybody hates the English.

Besides that, its a lovely country full of friendly people

Sounds just like England.... and Ireland.... and Wales.... in fact, it's a wholly Brittanic attitude!

It's global mate. Just looking at Spanish football it is easy to see just how entrenched regionalism is, Barcelona are essentially the national team of Catalonia and Athletic Bilbao will only use Basque players (Sociadad too, to a certain extent) and both those regions would like to be able to get FIFA recognition to field their own international sides.

If Spain could play Castilla, basque and Catalan national teams tehy would all be better than most European nations
