We never really looked like scoring, but we also looked fairly comfortable to me. Not sure we can get away with that 11 at home though, we really need to have a bit more craft and inventivness at Villa Park.

Who exactly are we meant to bring in to the first 11 to create goals?

Plus side not a bad away point I suppose but totally dull to watch..

unfortunatly I think thats the way things will be this season

Given MOTM good dispaly from him i just worry he will be our MOTM every week which is not a good sign of things to come.

over all reaction dull with little to entertainment or excite!

Petrov just cant pass the ball forwards.

You can say that again, twice in the second half he bizarrely passed backwards when we were on the front foot. Even McManaman commented on it. He's got issues with the penalty box

crap

playing 3 forwards and using 2 of them in midfield?

**** off

either play midfielders in midfield or dont **** bother

heskey predictably shit, couldnt control shit , didnt win headers didnt have a shot and **** up a good free header in the 6 yard box

gabby when played out wide, predictably shit, didnt beat his man once all game, didnt cross the ball once to a team mate all game, didnt have a shot all game?

bent predictably when given **** all service cant do anything

petrov played well first half, 60 minutes on the clock EVERYONE IN THE WHOLE WIDE **** WORLD knows he then goes missing, predictable

delph, easily our best midfielder over the full match, no competition. some of his passing did not hit the mark but looked to carry the ball rather than just knock it slightly behind any of our players or pass it backwards for predictable hoof ball

back 4 were ok today, yet again though the thought process of a brick half the time, slow passing slightly behind a player which makes them have to turn to the keaper who then can just hooooooooof

it is either the midfield never showing for the ball, and that isnt true because even nzog came deap looking for it to feat rather than try and scrap for a 50 50 with it in the air half the game.

nzog did not look good, i thought he played out wide on the left? maybe im wrong but he was shit on the right which for some reason he seemed to be played on

given was overall our best player, made some saves and we should really have lost this game by 2 goals going on the chances

manager?

shit decisions to play players everyone knows cant play where he wants them to

shit decision to not try and change things

shit subs

average tactics which worked in the first half to a point but **** clueless when jol changed the formation of fulham, they ran us in the second half.

not impressed, common sense is required for **** sake, nzog on the left alby on the right bent up front, **** all this shit with gabby on the left heskey on the right? load of wank

Our 1st away clean sheet in 25 games in all competitions, Last one in the League was April 21st 2010 against Hull City.

Blimey.

Makes the point all the more satisfying.

They looked fitter than us second half, which was to be expected.

Had a feeling this would be a draw. 3 outstanding saves from Given.

Cracking shot by Petrov 1st half as well.

Pleased with Delph, didn't think he'd play that well.

Only saw the first half and a bit of the second. Thought we were solid in defence but very stifled in attack as expected.

Dunne looked good, as did Given. A point at Craven Cottage, considering how match fit Fulham are, is decent but the poor performance leaves a lot to be desired.

Decent result, godawful game.

Just so dull, with limited attacking threat. Obviously it's only the first game, but if that is all service Bent is going to see from now on, can't see him stick around long.

But a point away at Fulham certainly isn't bad, and at least we aren't QPR fans :P

Ireland or Makoun, or both!

Little BB could be counted too, although its still too early to expect him to do this game in game out.

Not a bad result. First half was okay, but completely failed to build on it.

Is McLeish gonna be another frustrating manager who won't make obvious subs? Weird situation in 2nd half where in theory we had 3 strikers on the pitch, but Bent was totally isolated & the midfield was outnumbered. Gabby stuck on the left and seeing little of the ball & Heskey operating in some nether zone neither attack or midfield. Surely would've made sense to bring on Ireland or Bannan who would want the ball & use it. And clearly should've brought Makoun on for Petrov after the hour mark. Petrov was decent first half, but faded out of the game.

Defensively solid & a clean sheet is a good way to start things. Given did well, Warnock made a good return & Dunne in particular won pretty much everything he had to. Delph had a good 1st half, but faded with the team in the 2nd. Zog looked rusty, creativity should improve as he gets to sharpness & awareness with the rest of the team.

Overall, not an inspiring game in the least. That said, first match of the season away to a team who should be a bit ahead of us in match sharpness so can't draw too much from it. I'll be disappointed if we keep trying to fit Gabby, Heskey & Bent on the pitch at the same time. Really can't see a way of that working effectively as an attacking unit.

Take your pick from Bannan, Albrighton, Ireland and Makoun

In place of Heskey, Gabby, Petrov, Delph

THIS.

Inzogbia on the left marc on the right, a midfield 3 who inteligently support bent and who try play those balls in bent the cb to bent.

WE do not have a number 10 type player stop putting ppl in that role AMC
