The only thing I don't like is all the bloody cards people try to hand over to ya with naked women on. It's just so degrading towards those intelligent ladies to just have their picture passed out like that.

yeah but the way they clap them together in their hands means you cant help but look at what they are!

I didn't like how they handed them to everyone, me yeah maybe I can understand, but as im walking down the road with the missus, and 1 to her too? and to the 80 year old looking woman in front of me, and at least on 1 occasion a kid (which I remember well cos their mom went **** mental)

When I went if I had the kids with me they were quite good at not handing them over Didn't stop me having to explain to my son what they were mind you :) told him it was how people that played world of Warcraft got laid :) Edited by tonyh29

Both Wet republic and rehab are spot on, also the encore beach club.

As for clubs:

Hakkasan

Any of the wynn (XS, Surrender etc..)

Marquee (supposed to be the best)

Tao

The ghost bar while not a culb is in the rio and looks out from the 50th floor or something and is worth it for the view.

If you want local stuff the country bar Stoneys is quality, got a mechanical bull, line dancing, beer pong etc..

Also in the same complex is blue martini which was full of talent when i popped in.

Good tips Dom :) We did XS, Marquee and Wet Rep.

We did Pure on Thursday and Dreis which were both decent.

On Friday we did Marquee & XS on Saturday for Avicii. Both were amazing and had outdoor areas where the English accent was being laid on thick - some chicks are not fussed by it, but others really, really love it ;)

By Sunday night, we were absolutely broken. Three nights of hardcore boozing had finished us. We had guest list for Hakkasan on Sunday, but didn't make it there.

We did Wet Republic on Sunday afternoon which was something else! It's like they'd brought in buses full of models and let them loose around the pool area.

It's awesome how you can take your drink elsewhere; and I love the option of tipping a waitress in a casino so she keeps bringing you free drinks.

It's been decided that it's going to be an annual trip. I just can't wait for the next one.

Definitely got some interest in this for next year as a lads holiday (cheers for the PM Craig - helped convince me)

To the people who have been to both LV and New Orleans - how do they compare to each other, purely for going out and having a good laugh in the evenings. Or can't they be compared?

I've been to both B)

Could have been the time of year but Bourbon street was rammed with people , lots of them on the young side  , when I say young I mean in their 20's (i'm an old git of 43)  .... Bars galore and people walking up and down the streets drinking and having fun

Seemed to be more live bands in the bars in NO than Vegas  .. there is a casino in NO but it lacks the atmosphere of Vegas  , the eat all you can buffet must be good as they were queuing around the block when we went by (think it was steak night :) )

We travelled down on the train from Memphis and sat in the Buffet car drinking beer , the Americans were all chatty , sharing drink with us and asking us about Australia :bang:  ... Once we got to NO and the Bourbon street area it wasn't so friendly  , not unfriendly but nobody bothered to talk to us , people are in groups of friends and kinda stay that way

Vegas is bigger and more chilled and an older generation  , less baseball caps back to front on the head and less testosterone in the air .. and walk around Freemont street and people will say Hi , and have a drink with you ... I've got snaps of random strangers on my phone standing next to me as we both raise nuclear Kamikaze's in the air  , that sort of thing

Don't get me wrong I loved them both but Vegas wins it for me

though if you were talking sightseeing and the like then New Orleans would win

Obviously Tony went to all the old fart places in Vegas hence his 'chilled' and 'older generation' comments ;)

Go to some of those places mentioned by Dom and it certainly won't be chilled or an older generation :detect:

There are things to sightsee in Vegas (sort of), but you'll probably be seeing those things whilst bumbling up and down the strip whilst under the influence of sh*t loads of booze!

Saw the footballer wive wannabes and poser men queuing up to get inside the nightclub at the belaggio and quickly decided that wasn't the place for me

I am with you Tony.

Freemont Street is cheap.

the only people who can afford the Strip are VT's rich left wingers ;)

I'm genuinely gutted that I didn't visit Freemont. It was the plan for the first night but we got sidetracked by the strip. It's on the cards next year though.

That's the thing about Vegas, you either love it or hate it.

I have been 3 times and would be happy if I never went back again (that after the first time), But I will at some point, no doubt!

its amazing how many people I talk to about vegas that don't, especially the people at work who before going I say "make sure you go to freemont street, its the best thing there" followed by them not going...

It depends what you do as an alternative though, I guess. I'm gutted I didn't go, but I went to some of the top club nights instead.

One of my work colleagues went and he just ate in a few nice restaurants, saw a show or two, watched some NFL in a sports bar, and went to a few casinos. I can't see why he didn't head to Freemont St.
