Sat - Beers at beer park and won another $300 on college football games. then sabbath and Stoneys country bar

Sun - Stayed at my buddys house, but he had to work monday, so to get out of his hair got a hotel at Vdara, went for a ruby and a mooch but quiet day and night having a few pops and a gamble

Mon-flew home.

Just turn up mate! In feb it won’t be rammo. The food is good and plentiful selection of beers. But the location is quality. Right opposite the bellagio so you can sit and watch the wonders of Vegas day or night!

Off to Santorini for 11 nights on Tuesday with Mrs T.

The season is over and its time to chill out , I will put VT on hold for a couple of weeks, promised Mrs T no football talk

Unless of course I meet another fellow sufferer

I'm off to Vegas at the end of March with some mates. We're there for 8 nights but we're going to drive to LA and stay there for 3 or 4 nights in the middle.

Will be scouring this thread for things to do but any advice appreciated. We're staying in an Air BnB for our first stint there, but we'll be back after LA for one night so will probably book a nice hotel for that final night.

Hope you have a lot of money saved esp if your intending to go to the club scene

This is all people keep telling me. It's got me worried!

Don't get me wrong, I can afford to spend a bit on this holiday, and I've no aversion to spending money, but I also don't want to bankrupt myself for a few nights out!

I get my annual bonus the day before I fly... stick it all on black and hope for the best? ;)

In all the bigger casinos you’ll get free drinks as long as they think you are gambling...if you want to be cheeky, you can sit on the machines, insert a note so it shows you have credit, get the waitress to bring you a drink (tip her obviously), withdraw the note from the machine and walk round with the free drink. Gives you a start at least pre clubbing.

Hahaha I'm not that worried!

We went to Lovo for my father in laws 50th

We got $500 bottle service, VIP and one of the nicest looking women I've seen (wearing nothing but a bra, pants and stockings) as our personal assistant.  That was free because they accidentally added the cost of a pudding to my father in law when the waitress said it was a freebie in the restaurant we were in, adjoined to lovo (it was only a little strawberry cream cake, big enough for one)

The club was small, had a try hard DJ who played the latest songs on his spotify playlist, and the $500 bottle service was a bottle of £50 gin and 3 litres of mixers (Orange juice, cranberry and lemonade) - if that was my real money I'd have cried - only stretched to about 15 servings too.

Freemont street is the best night out we had there, great atmosphere, cheaper (but not inexpensive drinks, except me because it was my stag do, so free) drinks, loads of food options.

I'm not into clubbing, because I think it's absolute toilet, but apparantly Paris Hilton is a semi-regular at lovo - I just thought it was crud.  It was a foam thing too, because a bit of foam fell from the ceiling and they gave out free glow sticks with Lovo all over them, which is the only memory I have of it, apart from a sneaky photo of the fit lass.

That's because you want to go to the original sin city again ;)

Heading there on Friday

Still horrendously unorganised (for me!) but got a bit more sorted.

Air BnB booked for the first 4 nights. Club booked for Saturday, show booked for Sunday night. Will figure the rest out as we go.

Driving to LA on Tuesday for 3 nights. Staying in   Santa Monica.

Any more final recommendations welcome!!

Depending on how much time you want to spend in transit, a couple of things to consider:

1.   Check out Hoover Dam.   It's about a 45 minute drive from Vegas.  Quite impressive.

2    Head to LA via Death Valley.   It will add ~ 2 1/2 hours driving time plus any stops compared to taking I-15, but is really cool.   Badwater Basin, lowest point in US at 282 ft. below sea level, is about a 1/2 hour out and back detour of the main road.  There a few things to see along the main route that can be very quick stops without delaying you much.   It would be a long day by the time you get to LA, but worth considering if you want to see some interesting landscape.

I was definitely looking for something to do on the way to LA. Was half looking at Joshua Tree national park but may go for Death Valley instead

cheers for the tips

Joshua Tree's another good shout.   Could be some nice blooms there now with the rain that I assume they've also gotten the past couple of months.   You should check out the  US National Parks websites for both Death Valley and Joshua Tree and see what appeals to you.

@Stevo985....I've just read that there is definitely a "super bloom"  of wildflowers underway in California for the 2nd time in 3 years, which is pretty amazing.   Although the most spectacular examples are a bit south of your route from Vegas to LA, Joshua Tree is supposed to be experiencing it as well, particularly at lower elevations and in the south.  If this interests you, just Google California Super Bloom.  Death Valley is missing out, but then the big draw of DV for me is the barrenness, which would actually be lessened by a carpet of wildflowers.

Enjoy your trip and let us know what route you end up taking.

Thanks mate. I think Death Valley is more likely as my trip mates are more keen on that than Joshua tree. But I might try and persuade them.

Done our first day. Spent a fortune already but was up until 8am partying. Amazing place so far.

Already up (10:30) for our next party. Barely slept since 4am on Friday UK time. I think I’ll crash at some point!
