Always with the wife. She would kill me if that expense didnt involve her.

gotcha mate, then thats good, cos 9 days with the lads is a LONG time!

Ive been a few times with various birds and its a really good couples spot now as well as being the best place on earth to be with the lads.

I am going sometime in May. My old roommate wanted to go so I obviously was willing. I have this new credit card that gets me a lot of good hotel perks so I am excited to use that. I also get lounge access at the airports B)

My fiancee and I stayed in the Aria. We got a deluxe king room with a strip view. Fantastic room. Honestly loved Aria. Their pool was nice and relaxing. They gave me $100 food/beverage credit and a free buffet breakfast each morning for my fiancee and I. Plus we got 4pm check out sunday so were were able to sleep in. Only issue with Aria was how expensive everything was. I ordered a bourbon coke and it was $16. Just a normal bourbon as well. $32 for a pool side mojito. Then for dinner options, we were looking at $30 for a sushi roll. That's just too much. We came on vacation to have fun and didn't mind spending money, but that just felt wrong. I felt like I was being completely ripped off.

Anyway, we gambled a bit and lost money. I bet on the Madrid-Juve match to go to extra time, it did not. I bet on the Penguins to beat the Predators in hockey, they did not. I also bet on the LA Galaxy to beat the last place team DC United, and they did not...Yea my luck wasn't great. My fiancee on the other hand did pretty well with her money.

We also went and saw Circ de Soleil. We saw O which is the water one. It was pretty good. $130 a ticket after my 20% discount. It was fun to see all the acrobatics, but I just wish there was some type of story to the show. It was literally just dancing, swinging, diving, etc for near 2 hours. With no overlaying story, it got pretty repetitive after an hour.

We also went to Freemont street. Much cheaper drinks and gambling. We both got a drink for $12 combined. It's tough to find any 1 drink on the strip for $12 let alone 2. We had fun casino hoping there. It was my fiancee's first time to Freemont so she enjoyed the change of scenery.

It was a fun trip. The time change wrecked us saturday night. After circ de soleil we were exhausted. We walked over to venetian which took forever and got some food. Had to take a lyft back because we felt so sleepy.

Yeah the strip is expensive. Drink and food will stack up. I expect that and offset it by being downtown or getting groupon deals. For just a quick drink dirt cheap there is stage door or casino royale but you wouldnt want to spend too long there. (I did and consumed my bodyweight in $1 michelobs)

Next week I hit Vegas. I read today that CET properties are putting their ATM charges up to 9.99, thats crazy.

Bring a few hundred dollars cash and use your CC for most things (the one with a well behaved exchange rate policy). Vegas ATMs are like most things there!

For me Vegas isnt the place it once was. I use to go from a young age to my mid twenties. it was so much better you could go eat foe 15 bucks, drinks was reasonable and the shopping was great. Now its become ridiculously expensive. From the flights to the accommodation to eating out. If you are looking to go with the lads you have to get tables  at near enough all the clubs and the costs are astronomical. the clubs are really not that great either its more "lets see who can flash the cash more"

it has really become  a poser place and if you notice how many more homeless people there are on the strip now its so sad, it never use to be this bad. Those who have never been will probably love it and please dont let this put a downer on your trip. Like someone said above the old town is better for eating and drinking. nice place and fair more better value for money.

But my Vegas days are over now, the amount you spend in Vegas you could do a two week holiday in thailand!

For me it s abut different living in the states. Flights for me was under $300. Hotel $100. So cant complain at that.

For me it’s the vibe. The buzz. Of course I don’t do it like I used too. But I can’t beat the whole attitude of the place. I love it. I have a wee gamble. A wee drink. Good food. Get to sleep in. Love the place!!

It can be ridiculously expensive but it hasn't been for me. I don't do clubs and most of my time is spent downtown, which is significantly cheaper.

If you do that then its definitely affordable.

Going off the strip though is so dodgey.

Agreed, I also do that, the bars I like unfortunately are away from downtown and the strip.
