VillaChris Posted April 18, 2015 Share Posted April 18, 2015 What would people do if it's 1-1 with one minute left in extra time and we have a final sub left.....bring on a penalty scoring specialist like Sinclair if he dosen't start or Guzan? I don't think Given's ever saved a penalty for us and to me I'd much rather have Guzan in goal for a shoot out with his presence and we've already seen in his career here being brilliant in a shoot out. I have to admit, I never really fancy him to save them when they are awared against us. Edit: I know Guzan had that penalty shootout in the Peace Cup too but that was a friendly. Sunderland he saved 3 in a shoot out. He saved one v Norwich in the league last season. the_eristic Posted April 18, 2015 Share Posted April 18, 2015 He used to have a brilliant penalty record, but shortly after he began starting regularly, his technique visibly changed and his save percentage dropped off significantly, Had to have been coached, as it's not the kind of thing one just randomly changes. He'll bounce back. This - I don't think people appreciate how good he's been for us overall and are fixated on the fact that sometimes his distribution isn't so good.
