useless
Aye, Samurai Champloo is a pretty well known anime series and was made by Shinichiro Watanabe, the same guy behind the series I was just talking about, Cowboy Bebop (which is the better series in my opinion though I do love Champloo too). Thanks very much, I'll have to watch that Cowboy Bebop then, should be good.
Ginko
It's very different in terms of setting, so if you prefer sword fights and the whole Feudal Japan era and Samurai and ninja deal then it might not be for you. It's still bloody amazing though. It's set in the future where space travel is common and follows two bounty hunters. It's futuristic of course, but there's some great fights and gunplay in there too. Bloody brilliant. I'd be amazed if anyone remotely interested in anime or manga didn't love it. Very stylish like Champloo too.

I don't know what it is about Champloo that I like, don't think it's anything in specific like the era or style of fighting, It's just the overall tone and style of it plus the music, so I reckon I'd like this Cowboy Bebop thing too. Thanks for the info.
Ginko
You're more than welcome, Bebop is definitely in the same vein style and tone-wise as Champloo. The opening title music is the best anime theme ever too. You'll know what I mean when you hear it

Dodgyknees
Is there any way we can have a list of Manga/Anime in the opening thread - just things people recommend others to watch? I know some bits were suggested for me in here, can't remember them though. Loving AOT, wondering if there is anything else I should watch when I have 5? Ginko
Do a list of the stuff you've watched and highlight the ones you really liked and people can recommend similar shows. Also, Anime News Network is a good place to find new anime to watch and for general anime news. A few I'd recommend though: Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist*, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Basilisk, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. And if you like long-running series then Naruto and One Piece are still going, Bleach and Fairy Tail are on hiatus and have been for a while but still have plenty of episodes to catch up on, and the manga is still going. Naruto, for me, was absolutely brilliant up until they started doing filler regularly (I think it's around Ep 135 where they start and they last for a good 70 or 80 episodes after that, they are awful) so I'd say watch it up until then, then skip to Naruto Shippuuden, though that has filler thrown in here and there and they really stretch out the fights to ensure they don't catch up to the manga again which sucks because the reason Naruto was so brilliant when it started off was because it was well paced and didn't labour on things. *I'd recommend Full Metal Alchemist AND Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The original series reaches a point in the story where it caught up with the manga and so the anime went in it's own direction, but it actually was very good. Brotherhood was done only a couple of years ago now and finishes the story as it's told in the manga, and it's different but also very good. The first few episodes of Brotherhood quickly go over a lot of the stuff done in the original, but it really is done quickly, so I'd advise watching both, but FMA first.

Czechlad
Do you all watch hentai as well? I honestly hate hentai. I don't understand why people like it. I watch a few animes from time to time but I watch them for the interesting stories not for the sexuality.

hogso
Finished Attack on Titan today, good stuff. I enjoyed the fact that, after those 25 episodes, in regards to the main story arc (what are the titans, what is their motive, why are some humans titans, who built the wall, etc etc) at least, I have absolutely no **** idea what's going on In other, really bad, news, is the fact that the blu ray release of evangelion 3.33 has now been put back to approx Feb 15. That's over a year from the original release date. I preordered it in Dec 13 sucks man. I'm going to have to concede and 'acquire' the theatrical version of 3.0, I think
