I really like the almost Krautrock, motorik drumming. It adds an extra dimension to some of the songs.

Yeah, I think we've already had this conversation. Motorik is fine in its place, but these songs (for me) are crying out for a human drummer with a bit of sloppy swing.

Well, yeah, apparently it's very Bob Dylan-esque (and I agree).

There's enough of a contemporary edge to set it apart though.

Yep. Dylan, Dire Straits, Petty, Springsteen, F.Mac.

I'm sure they'd still be just as worth listening to, and It'd be interesting to hear them played like that.

The motorik thing is just one of those musical whotsits that kind of gets me every time.

I never really listeded to them much after this LP, but it and the associated singles and b-sides are still bloody magnificent I have to say.

I am the horizon
I have dreamt of my eyes tracing rings around this world
My arms are stretched to forever
My fingers shake with the fear of control
The fear I know you all know so well
We all lay claim to our destinies yet we all rise and fall with the current

A bona fide skramz classic along with the 7" which I am about to listen to

Are you cumming?

Maybe this is more suited to the "Wales Triumphant Euro 2016 Victory Parade" thread (they think they're amazing - they're rubbish of course)

Sweet thing, I watch you
Burn so fast it scares me
Mind games don't leave me
I've come so far, don't lose me
It matters where you are

^^^^ Named after a kebab? (souvlaki is greek kebabs)

Oddly, yes. I once wore a shirt of the above album at a greek restaurant, thought i was being well clever.

I'd say that if music were food, that album would be the furthest thing from a kebab possible.  Like a cheese board or something (is that the furthest thing possible from a kebab, foodwise? Almost certainly not. Both fatty, moreish food stuffs. I should have given that more thought).

It's grown on me a LOT!

As do most albums to be fair, as mentioned above.

Miles away from his best, but a good listen. Worst bit are the tracks that aren't songs. Boring as shit. I miss the skits of College Dropout etc

He's added another track - 'Saint Pablo' and its up there with the best tracks on there.

Saw an interview with Chance the other day and it seems there loafs of different versions of each track. He played a snippet of 'Famous', but with a verse from Chance before the breakdown at the end - sounded ace.

I'd love him to release a complete collection of all the songs - a bit of a 'create your own album' thing.
