jacketspuds
I think we've been crap for long enough this season to stop assuming that we should beat teams like Wigan. We're down there for a reason and have not played well at all this year. I'm not confident about this but really want us to win for two reasons. 1) To ease my worrying about us going down. 2) To participate in a Summer Transfer Thread on the main forum board. bose
It used to be that I looked forward to watch the Villa but today I'm actually nervous. I hate this season.
PriceyDownunder
9-0 Albrighton, Bent and Downing all getting hat-tricks I admire your optimism so much that if it comes true I pledge $1000 to Acorns if that's the result...

VillaRoy
With Gabi ruled out, hope we give a youngster a start instead of Heskey.

Hanky
VILLA: Friedel; Walker, Dunne, Collins, L Young; Downing, Petrov, Reo-Coker, A Young; Heskey, Bent. Subs: Pires, Albrighton, Bradley, Delfouneso, Delph, Cuellar, Marshall.
symmouk
Good to see Delph on the bench, but no Bannan again which not to happy about. Would rather see Fonz up top with Bent, but this team is strong enough for a 3-1 victory today! Bent, Downing and Heskey for me
bose
Where the is Bannan? Why the **** do you recall him if he doesn't even make the squad!!!
VillaRoy
How is Heskey still starting games for us?! If theres any game to give some of a younger players a go it is today, instead of Liverpool or Arsenal.

jimbojames
Why oh why do we persist with sticking Pires on the bench, as per above what was the point of recalling Bannan??
theboyangel
Any team news for Wigan??? Has N'Zogbia recovered from his knock?
symmouk
I would love to be watching Bannan on BBC One right now - seeing him outclass Tarrababyat. Yet Pires is on the bench ahead of him? Not happy - especially after Bannan's comments this week about Houllier.
VillaRoy
Why oh why do we persist with sticking Pires on the bench, as per above what was the point of recalling Bannan?? Joke ain't it! Especially at this stage in the season when we literally have nothing to play for.
jonno_2004
Glad Heskey is back in, we look a lot more solid at defending set pieces with him at the back. I imagine he will be looking to play well against his old club too.
Sani
Wigan team v Villa: Al Habsi, Alcaraz, McCarthy, Caldwell, Watson, N'Zogbia, Moses, Cleverley, Boyce, Rodallega, Figueroa. jonno_2004
I do wonder: how bad does that lump Collins have to play before he's dropped?
