dbsboots
There was a story going about that Pardew was in debt to their owner over gambling at casinos etc.. It does seem like a very, very weird sacking and appointment. There is definitely more to it.

Doesnt really make sense to give him the managers job then does it ? Yip, you cant be trusted with money, heres the managers job and £50m to spend. TrentVilla Posted April 11, 2011 Moderator Share Posted April 11, 2011 Although I actually agree with him about Ashley Young's habit of falling over the irony is that on this particular occasion it was a clear foul by Barton. I thought his comments were extremely poor and not the way a manager should conduct himself, I had hoped that our manager would come to Young's defence in the press today. I mean Young might dive but as his manager I think Houllier should be supporting his player when an opposition manager takes a dig like that. You obviously don't know the situation at Newcastle very well, do you? When has the owner handed out £50m to any manager up there and said work away at that? When has Ashley not interfered with everything that goes on at the club? Also, wasn't the sale of Carroll after Pardew came in as well? And when did that ever rise to £50m? Where is that figure from? And it does make sense, if you read the rumours at the time. He comes in as a manager and works for a lot less money than he would normally get to pay off said debt. So, yes, it does make sense. Doesn't it?

dudevillaisnice
I'd rather as a club we don't fall to their level to even respond to it

av1
I don't think it is just that he doesn't like losing ans he strated twittering on earlier in the week. Also I know Ash does go down easily but so would I with Barton's tackle definate foul. It all just seemed very personal. I wonder if we rejected him pre-GH. I have a feeling Bartons interview put his manager on the spot for this game, and then it was followed by Ashley basicly replying in the Media, that Barton is shit.I think he was trying defend his knob of a player, by having a dig at Ashley. Nout there really. All managers will do the same. When was this CNT? Cheers
barry'sboots
I find Pardew's comments really annoying (and I see Ryan Taylor is trying to say the same thing now) especially after Barton made that really stupid appeal when he hammered the ball out in their right hand corner. It was a clear foul for the free kick. Ash doesn't help himself though as he did one absolutely ridiculous dive in the middle third of the pitch which made him look like a mug. Other than that I thought he went down when he was fouled yesterday.
Demitri_C
he is a bone head. what really infuriated me was lily savage yesterday saying we was a poor side and luckily there were 3 teams worse than us prick
foreveryoung
Funny as **** when he commented on the Petrov foul on Barton though "Bang bang down ya go son, ya gotta expect this if ya the best midfielder" Petrov's best move for a while!
