jacketspuds
If we can not beat an Everton team without Arteta, Cahill, Fellaini, Coleman, Saha, Yobo & Rodwell then we really are in trouble and GH should go after this game. We need to play 4-3-3 or 4-4-2. Our 4-5-1 is too defensively minded and have 2 attacking wide forward players/wingers from Albrighton, Young, Agbonlahor & Downing with Bent up top would do damage to most teams. None of this playing Young in the hole or Gabby wide left as part of a 5 man midfield. Play him as a wide front man, like when he burst on to the scene and was fantastic, and we should start seeing some results. Plus our defence is starting to return, but let's hope they've learned out to defend set-pieces in the last week or so. 4-3-3 is 4-5-1 Is it? ------------------------Friedel------------------------------------ Walker-----------Dunne-------Cuellar-------------------Clark --------------------------NRC------------------------------------ -------------Makoun-------------------Delph------------------- Downing-----------------------------------------------------A. Young -------------------------Bent---------------------------------- or ------------------------Friedel--------------------------------- Walker---------------Dunne-------Cuellar----------------Clark Albrighton------Makoun-----------------NRC-----------Downing -------------------------A. Young------------------------------ ----------------------------Bent---------------------------------- I'd much rather we played the 1st option than the 2nd one yet it's the latter that GH seems to persist with. We'd be much more successful playing the first way.
Shillzz
Agree that 451 / 433 are basically just defensive and attacking versions of each other. The 2 bones of contention are: How do your CM's line up - 2 sitting with 1 free role like Germany in the World Cup or 1 dedicated anchor man with 2 box to box, like Barcelona. and also how attack minded your wingers are. Either way, I believe this is the best formation for us.
Shoody
4-3-3 is 3 midfielder and 3 upfront/2 wing. It would mean moving Ash out of the hole and give us rotation on the wings.

Morley_crosses_to_Withe
Given the fact that they've got a huge injury list, there's surely no excuses for not coming away from Goodison with all three points. Oh, wait! Yes there is - we've got that clueless **** in charge. That's a good enough excuse as any. Another loss.
Artetasgirl Posted March 29, 2011 Visiting Supporter Share Posted March 29, 2011 Cahill injured aswell and been released before the Germany game, likely to be out. Meaning... Arteta Rodwell Fellaini Cahill Saha Yakubu Yobo Coleman Baxter Duffy Are all out, either through Injury or being loaned out. So assume his manager, fans and teammates to be a bit pissed off with him We've been pissed off with him all season actually. Dislike him a lot. Everton haven't actually said anything about any of the injuries other than Arteta and Fellaini. Cahill has been playing with his lately but going off with 20/30 mins to go, he may play. Rodwell and Saha were at a specialist so I assume they are both out. Coleman, absolutely NO idea how serious it is. Anichebe has been carrying an injury too and sat out Nigeria training but was passed fit to play. Either way, significantly weakened team to what would usually start. According to GrandOldTeam Cahill is out after actually injuring himself and Anichebe is also out after aggravating his injury. Agreed Heitingha has been a bag of shit, seems to be coasting on his ego since July.

Or Everton are a pretty good team, in fact, just about give anyone a game on their day. :? Although we should be getting a point given the problems. They've had big injury problems in the past and come through it strongly, even with injury list, it's not going to be an easy game. I'd take a point right now, although we do have a great chance of 3 points.

markavfc40
Looks like a bit of a gift horse with all Evertons injuries. On paper another game we should win but given we have old man clueless leading us I'd be happy with a draw. A defeat and it should be cheerio and good riddance to Houllier. Although having said that it should have been a long time ago. My heart says we will win 3-1 my head with visions of Houllier and GMac sitting looking gormelss on the bench says 2-1 Everton. We have another great following here and we'll give our all to back the boys and if it again yields us no points give Houllier hell come full time.
