Petrov = If he'd take a pay-cut then keep, but not likely so bin. Too old and tired of making excuses to defend him. Herd = See Lichaj/Baker. Bannan = Definitely KEEP. A.Young = Do our best but hey, I wouldn't blame him if he left. Makoun = Obviously keep, new player and all. Delph = 100% KEEP. Players like Delph are Villa's future. Reo-Coker = Give him new contract if he wants one. Agbonlahor = KEEP as you know what you'll get and he's a Villa fan. Delfouneso = Still think he deserves a better chance. He's got something we don't have elsewhere. Guile up-top. Heskey = Maybe one more season. Can't write him off when he was in such form a few months back. Bent = Obviously keep. Pires = Keep maybe as an emergency player/coach. May as well get rid otherwise. Ireland = Always wanted him at Villa, now he is here, GET RID. Carew = Please leave. Lichaj - full season out on loan. Beye - Sell. Warnock - sell Baker - keep around squad. LB/CB cover. Clark - keep Collins, Dunne - Keep one, sell the other...whatever order. Cuellar - keep Albrighton - keep Downing - keep Herd - full season out on loan. Hogg - full season out on loan. Osbourne, Salifou - go Petrov - sell. Reo-Coker - must keep for me if possible. Makoun - obviously keep. Bannan, Delph - keep obviously as competitors for two midfield spots. Gardner - Out on loan until January, assess options in regard to first team/another loan. Pires - Maybe give him a deal depending on wages just to sort of be back up if injuries with likes of Hogg/Herd/Gardner on loans.. Ireland - Leave this one to management team to decide during pre-season, plenty of potential but if not willing to work... Young - Expect to leave, keep if willing. Heskey, Carew - time to go really, Heskey I'd of liked to say one more year but he's a huge earner. Bent - keep... Agbonlahor - keep..(battling with Bent for ST as well as 4th choice WG) Delfouneso/Weimann - give both half a season loans at top championship/low Prem clubs.. Unfortunately, under O'Neill, these type of players were being paid 50k a week. The idiot. I would definately get rid of the following in the summer: Petrov Heskey Beye Warnock Carew And a few of the youngsters if we can pick up 250k for each of them. Lichaj etc. I would love to see Bannan and Delph given a run of games now. I also really rate Clark, think the kid will become a class act. If true, I think we can say he made his point People complain about Ashley Young, and in some ways rightly so, but he is someone who can provide a spark of genius once in a while, whereas there was precious little genius on show last night. It was good, though, in some ways, to see for once and for all that: Heskey is really too old now. Petrov is really too old now. Gabby is a shadow of the player he was two seasons ago. Bannan is a prospect and worth keeping. Delph is a prospect and worth keeping. Clark is a prospect and worth keeping. Probably can't draw real conclusions about anyone else. I really really hope Gabby can find form again. It would be too sad to see him go, but frankly he is offering us nothing at the moment and needs to make way for someone who does offer something. It's interesting to see that there's pretty much general agreement on this thread about who we keep and who not. The differences of opinion are pretty much: Collins/Dunne: I say keep Collins and move Dunne on. Good game last night from Dunne but he was always going to make an effort against the club who sold him, and he's getting on a bit now. Collins has arguably cost us far fewer goals than Dunne this season, and not just because he's played fewer games! NRC: I say keep if he'll sign a new contract, but don't offer him higher wages, and make it a short contract if possible, because he seems to play better when it's running out for some strange reason. Liverpool have similar problems to us though. Goes to show 6th is about the best we can expect unless Randy doubles his investment. For what it's worth, I think Delph is ready. This team is nothing better than mid-table. spookily agree on all fronts. Think the reo coker bit might be true, but will be a mistake IMO. Largely agree but with a couple of exceptions... Collins is excellent on his day and more than useful as a squad player, in fact I'd have no complaints about him and Cuellar being our first choice centre halves. Delfouneso has only just turned 20, he is twice the player Gabby was at the same age and IMO will be a star. We need to give him time to develop, and if he isn't going to get the game time here he needs to go out on loan for a while to a club that will play him every week. RB - unsure LB - unsure ACM - I would love to see Milner come back Of course, if NRC and/or Ash left then we would have two further gaps although decent money from Ash to bring in two - NZogbia and Sissoko possibly? Get rid 2 x keeper, unless Friedel maybe stays around as second choice for a year Luke Young, although I might keep him as cover for LB for a year on the right deal Beye Collins Warnock Petrov Salifou Osbourne Carew Ireland Loan Herd Lowry Baker Possibly Bannan (as I see Makoun and Delph as in front of him at the minute) Maybe the Fonz and/or Wiemann as we have three other strikers competing for one spot in my formation, with them coming back following the final year of Heskey (if he can be kept on as back up/impact at a lower wage) Haven't seen enough of Bradley to be sure.
