Just in case there was any doubt...

Alan Hutton: “I don’t see any way back for me at Villa."

Alan Hutton says he sees no future for himself at Aston Villa under Paul Lambert

Alan Hutton is resigned to the fact his nightmare claret and blue career is over, conceding: “I don’t see any way back for me at Villa.”

Paul Lambert insisted the door is open for Hutton to play again for the club if his loan spell at Nottingham Forest is a success. But the Scottish right-back, who was made to train with the academy youngsters by Lambert, believes his future in football lies away from Villa. Hutton endured a tough first season with the claret and blues but is at a loss to explain why current boss Lambert does not rate him.

“I was told at the beginning of the season I wouldn’t be playing,” said Hutton.

“It’s one of those things when new managers come in. It’s happened a couple of times to me. You have to pick yourself up and move on. You’ll have to ask Paul Lambert [why he doesn’t rate me]. I don’t really want to go into the reason."

“I don’t see any way back for me at Villa. What’s been said has done for me there. I want the boys to do well and then January comes and we’ll see what happens. Forest is a big club and I want to be part of it.”

As crap as he was for us, to the outsider his treatment by Lambert has been poor I think. I wonder how Lambert came to the conclusion that Warnock, Hutton, and Collins had nothing to offer, yet Ireland, Delph, Gaby or Zog to name four were equally shit last season had a future.

Just wonder if there was some issue behind the scenes with some of those players - I seem to remember McLeish alluding to some issues between the senior plays and the younger players?

GMac also alluted to the big problems in the changing room. Isn't Collins known to be heavy drinker or am I mistaken? There's also been some talk that Warnock haven't been exactly happy camper in Villa.

This is just pure speculation but those players might have formed a group of players who'd been bad examples for younger players in one way or another.
